Found Alive NY - Rachael Mattice, 24, Wells, 22 June 2016

Is car door open engine running considered fact?
What stinks is we have almost no facts. What we are going by are early reports where family and friends gave interviews and said things that LE won't deny or confirm.

In reading my last link I posted, she was known to crank up the music in her car and leave the door open. How close is the closest neighbor?
Wonder if they could hear the music going however long until the car ran out of gas, but no one reported it.

I clicked the link you posted but I don't even see that information. What I'm confused by is the past where it says Abrams addressed the post by CN and then it goes into detail of what CN said. But it never says what Abrams address to it was....

Okay, put it all on the table. Oh please, that's the same old head scratching.
Hold a press conference and formally address whether what CN posted was true.
LE, please don't let those leads dry up and this case go cold.

Leads are drying up in the search for Rachael Lynn Mattice, a 24-year-old Johnstown woman who disappeared while staying at her family's remote camp in the Adirondacks.
Sheriff Karl G. Abrams said the number of tips received from the public is beginning to slow, and police have pursued their existing tips and are now re-interviewing previous leads.
Forest rangers and State Police helicopters searched the woods around Mattice's last known location over the weekend but have not found anything, Abrams said.
Searchers will hold a meeting Tuesday to "lay everything on the table," Abrams said.Mattice was last seen June 22 at her family's campsite in Wells.
The campsite showed no signs of a struggle, no suicide note and no indication any one other than Mattice had been there, Abrams said Thursday.Abrams addressed a post on social media by Cynthia Nellis, who describes herself as Mattice's best friend.
"Her car and camp door were found wide open," the Facebook post said. "Her car was left on/ran out of gas. Her phone and purse were in the car. It is believed that she was abducted."
Abrams said investigators have not found anything indicating foul play and are treating it as a missing persons case.
"She was known to leave the car open all the time, to crank music, and go walking," Abrams said.""

Not sure what you are asking. It is in the article that she frequently would leave car door open, cranked music, and went walking.

Thanks for pointing it out! IDK why I was completely overlooking it when I clicked the link.

What I'm asking thought is this:

"Abrams addressed a post on social media by Cynthia Nellis, who describes herself as Mattice's best friend."

I don't see where he address the post. He makes no comment on it. I mean he does say she is known to leave the car open and go walking, but is that in direct response to CN's post? If it is, sounds like he's confirming the post, no?

What was the address of the hunting camp? I will check public records to see how long they owned it. I own a cottage that I had before I had children. My boys are in their 20's now and are very comfortable there. We wouldn't think twice about them staying there if they needed a place to stay.

It has not been officially revealed but some wonderful sleuths here did pull some records and at least 172 Hernandez Rd. is owned by people with Rachael's last name (note: not her parents though).

I think the "no evidence of foul play" is in response to CN posting "it is believed she's been abducted ".

It seems to be the Mattice property at 172 Hernandez road. When I map it it just shows very dense woods. I don't even see road access to property. Must be a dirt tract. She was so brave to stay there alone.

Where is Rachael?!?

:candle:

Per NG Mark Klaas thinks she fell in a well, river, and this was an accident.

It really makes me nervous to rely on just one witness that didn't hear or see another car headed there that night. As others have questioned -- does this one witness sit there all day long watching and listening? Could an abductor gone into the wooded area the day or two before without this witness knowing it?

The camp itself has no cellphone reception. Abrams said before driving to the campsite, Mattice pulled over on the bridge of the Lake Algonquin Dam and texted "good night" to her mother. It was the last anyone has heard from her, Abrams said.

A witness who lives down the road didn't remember any car driving in or out other than the car police believe was driven by Mattice, Abrams said.

I'm curious, wouldn't the radio have continued playing until the battery died? Sound carries in the country. A neighbor close enough to verify her car at night is way close enough to hear music playing for hours and hours. I don't like how LE is saying this about her habits. Why would her purse and phone be there if she was playing music? And by the way, her car didn't have to be in running gas to play music. Pew, this reasoning stinks.

I think if she fell in she would have been found by now. JMHO.

Fell in a well?
She knew her way around that area and the camp site. Plus I doubt there's open wells at ground level she'd fall into. Did they show the camp site or the river on the show?

So, I'm suppose to believe she leaves her car door open and goes towards the creek or the river without her cell phone and drowns? Water searches and they still haven't found her.

Did anyone on the show entertain the thought that she's been abducted?

I didn't watch the show, but was surprised Mark said that. Don't know what he's basing it on.

Yes they were saying it could be an abduction and I feel that most were leaning that direction.
