I dont believe anyone here is accusing anyone of anything.
We have very few facts and all supplied by IM. the rest is speculation and imagination...all with the right intention of helping to find a missing husband, father and son.

Maybe, just maybe...one of us has already, unknowingly, stumbled upon the actual scenario. We dont know. We just hope for a safe return or quick answers for the family.

I appreciate you giving me the benefit of doubt...It is hard to express intent in written word.. lol maybe even more so for me. No, I dont think anyone has been accusatory in here after reading the threads...I do however have some concerns. About the aggressiveness in questioning on the fb boards by some. I believe everyone's intent is good...I just think some do not realize that if someone does not have the answers, asking the same questions over and over do not produce any different results...in fact it could lead to people closing up where once they were open.... I just hope everyone keeps in mind that this could be them one day ...(I hope not!) And maybe time should be given until more answers are available...

Again, this of course is just MHO coming in from the outside of situation.

The following shows the laws in NY state, as they apply to scrap dealers. It seems to me (if I'm reading it correctly), that they were even made stricter in January of this year. *If* the scrap yard that RM went to, followed the rules, they should have a pretty detailed record of the transaction (which of course may not have been reported to the media by LE). Even without cameras, they should be able to confirm some helpful details.

{Warning: this is NOT interesting reading! :crosseyed: )

The thing that struck me was that in addition to the person's driver's license, the scrap dealer is now supposed to write down the plate# of the car they came in. (This applies to sales above $50...which his likely was.) I'm struggling to keep RM, and his car, together throughout that day. I think there's some significance to that...although I'm not sure about anything anymore! :blushing:

Aww yes $50 would be considered more than minimal by some and less by others.. it would be nice if LE would step forward with some answers, :screwy: which make one wonder if they are even purposely guiding people in wrong direction in fear of someone "disrupting" their investigation... however, they say there is nothing to suggest criminal activity... I could very well be wrong but if no criminal activity, no investigation. They literally do not have the time or resources to spare on someone over 18, in apparent good health...unless or until someone comes forward with some evidence a crime in fact has been committed.

What really bothers me is there has been absolutely no one coming forward.. I mean regardless of scenario, someone had to have seen him at some point in two months......

But if he had a brain tumor or other health event...where is he? Surely not wandering for months now, without his wallet?

What I think people are missing is the fact that two different things could have happened at same time... happens all the time ....in city especially... people take advanatage of those hurt or down on luck.

Even if he had amnesia...he has to eat, etc.
I am hoping they checked all shelters, churches, etc a long time ago.

Another thing that I can't figure out is how the dogs didn't pick up his scent (leaving from his parked car). How can that be? If he walked away, or went to the platform to take the train, they'd have to track him wouldn't they?

Hello, I haven't posted in a while. I just read a few pages of where I left off.
There is one thing that I am curious about and I am curious as to what all of you may think.... Here goes.. The website for missing persons that states Rob was last seen on his block instead of what we have been told about him last being seen at the scrap yard.
If their information is true ( I really believe it is). Maybe Rob left his wallet home in the afternoon and not the morning. This would make more sense to me because it gives him the ID needed for the transaction at the scrap yard and it also leaves proof he was there had he put the receipt in his wallet. After the scrap yard he returns home for some unknown reason for 5 or 10 minutes, hurries out leaving his wallet in the garage with the receipt and that's how IM is aware of the "minimal" transaction that took place. The fact that he was at the scrap yard and had his I'd with him just makes things more credible to me and it clears up any questions. Thoughts??

On August 7th, IM answered on FB to those inquiring about a receipt. Her answer was something like, she did know for sure that Rob was at the scrap yard and there was a transaction. The police are active in the investigation and she couldnt divulge anymore.

Also about the dogs not picking up his scent. Maybe he never drove the car to the train. It is what it is. What other reason could there be? I don't think there could be another reason. The dogs did not pick up his scent that means he wasn't there. In my opinion.

Curiousinny - the only way anyone can be positive of that is from a receipt. Otherwise it would just be hearsay and not a fact. I believe if she would only state facts not to jeopardize finding her husband.

They are all we have. We have no other statements.
IM needs help locating her husband...this is the info she chooses to release that
May help in doing so.

Hi everyone, i have been following this story from day one and also went on some searched. The one thing I don't understand is why they have us search the same areas over and over. When asked is we can search scrap or surrounding building we are told to leave it to LE. very mixed feelings :fence:

I stopped writing on the fb page.It seems they decide what they want you to say. If any good suggestions come up, the admins attack. They want help but honesty needs to happen. If they know more they need to let the people know. it would help searches. IM was told about possible sigting in AL. To my knowledge there was no reply:scared:

Yes shelter's were checked but volunteers are desperately needed to recheck, along with mental hospitals and John Does in regular hospitals...which can be a difficult task if LE is not investigating, with hippa laws. She cant possibly handle all herself, especially with 2 kids and a broken heart....
As for smell in car...if RM was hurt, and Someone took advantage of situation, he may not have been in car by the time it reached the station. Then there is the fact it was found when? Late at night or early morning? Enough time passes, scent fades..

Has there not been a few cases with people in shelters not making the connection or recognizing someone until months later?

I am sorry, I absolutely do not buy the scenario of him walking out on own as would he not have done it years ago when there were "issues" as every marriage has rather than being loyal and waiting until all was "peachy"? I am sure IM would rather have this happen than what she is probably fearing most of all.

This was brought up on fb and was told it does not matter when wallet was left home. Nothing makes sense on that page. But real good question

In what way could he have been taken advantage of? His car was not taken, he evidently did not have cash or cards on him...

  • #900
As frustrating as it is...we only know what IM and LE want us to know...
