The first paragraph of the three-count federal indictment against the music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs lays out in an overarching summary the serious and sprawling allegations against him.

“For decades, Sean Combs, aka ‘Puff Daddy,’ aka ‘P. Diddy,’ aka ‘Diddy,’ aka ‘PD,’ aka ‘Love,’ the defendant, abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct,” the indictment states. “To do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled – creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”

The indictment from the US Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York charges Combs with three counts: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he faces a sentence of up to life in prison.

I wonder if Sean Combs will face more charges if that is the case.

I hope he does but it better be quick because right now the Feds aren’t looking good as far as the evidence they collected. When you see 30 or more armored vehicles and agents knocking down glass to gain entry to a house it seems like there would be serious criminal activity taking place. Including the way they forcefully took SC children out of the house.

If there are more victims they are probably glad that they didn’t testify. Why go through the fear and horrific questioning if it wasn’t going to make a difference? This is why so many women don’t report DV and ultimately lose their lives. It’s very sad.

I'm glad the judge denied bail!

On Vinny he said SC fans/friends inside the courtroom brought baby oil with them. Sick that they are promoting the behavior. I think they were expecting that he would be released on bail, being as in their minds he didn’t do anything wrong.

In my opinion (and hopefully everyone else’s!! ), this is stupid!!! Omg. The best thing to come out of this trial is that Cassie was able to somehow, somewhat speak of and “vindicate” her trauma. That poor woman. But how she has risen above!!! On one hand, I hope she is able to feel free of some of what she has endured but on the other, it’s scary for her to be out there because who knows what this monster and his RICO empire are capable of!! Ugh.
He is one million percent a flight risk and an absolute danger to society. Hopefully he isn’t free.

inside? they why would the guards let them through the entrance to the courthouse with that ...
Idk about there but here we get our purses/bags searched while we go through the security scan

I read that supporters outside had baby oil

For what he was charged with, I'd say the verdict was accurate. I'd actually acquit on prostitution also (jury nullification). It was ridiculous to make this a RICO case. He isn't a Mafia don. He'll probably get closer to the minimum. There aren't many in prison for the crimes he was convicted of, and they're not doing long sentences on the first offense.

Racketeering isn't only about the mafia. R. Kelly was convicted of it, also in NY. So was Keith Raniere, who also happened to have Agnifilo as his attorney.

I am aware. Yes, the bill was written specifically for the Mafia. But like many laws that are poorly-written and broadly defined, it's been abused by lazy prosecutors who want an easy conviction or a shake-down plea bargain... Since RICO penalizes patterns of behavior rather than the actual criminal activity, it's the perfect weapon.

The Feds dropped the ball on this, period. They wanted a high-profile case, and they blew it. The most heinous acts he committed, that they had ample evidence of, he wasn't actually charged with, because they're state crimes. As usual, when the Feds came in, the state backed down. The jury didn't betray Cassie, the government used Cassie.

He said inside but he may have meant outside.

In or out is ridiculous.

Why demonstrate something that Cassie, Jane and others had to endure?

To them it doesn’t register as wrong.

SC is going to be praised as a hero for having sex for 4 days.

There should be a warning on the oil label, sex for 4 days is not recommended.

“Howard says Cassie 'commanded him to masturbate for hours,' which would leave his 'penis bruised and swollen.' He says he would ask Cassie to consider his injuries but she 'showed no mercy.'

He accuses her of manipulating and forcing 'herself upon him during her menstrual cycle against his will' as well as filming him without his consent.

Howard also says Diddy 'implied threats of violence' and once threatened to 'pistol whip' him.

'Ventura deceived, manipulated, and injured Plaintiff and therefore, should be held accountable alongside Defendant Combs, as the two were partners in these criminal enterprises,' the lawsuit reads”

Did she throw him on the floor by his hair to force him?

Did she drag him laying down all over hotel hallways?

Did she threaten to ruin his music career and endorsement deals?

Did she kick him in his back while he was lying on the floor?

Did she smash his head against a bed frame then had to bring in a doctor for stitches?

Did she give him bruises and black eyes requiring makeup and glasses?

Maybe she encouraged some weird things but Diddy FORCED her. She was too small to FORCE him.

2 Cents

So. The the relationship with CV started some where with SC. I think from everything I've heard or read is that she (Cassie) appeared to be okay with the life style in the beginning. And that she herself was deeply involved with securing sex works and paying for their services. So I guess she was okay with it all, until she wasn't. SMH.JMO

NOTE: I don't condone violence of any kind!

I kept up with this trial. Well, as much as I could without needing to wash my eyes out with soap every day. A highly complex case. One of the reasons I feel it was so complicated is that these women's emotions were so conflicted when it came to their relationship with SC. I wish the prosecution could have explored more deeply, with experts, trauma bonds created in a domestic violence situation. Add to that CV's fear of her career being ruined, and her addiction. Jane appears to still be struggling with her feelings for SC and is still dependent on him to pay her rent. Their words and actions were used against them. The jury didn't get the level of trauma and coercion. Just didn't get it.

I read a comment recently that might sum up why he was found not guilty on so many of these charges: "This was the price these women paid to live the lifestyle they wanted — fame and fortune."

I personally believe the prosecution met the burden of proof on all charges. He needed to be in prison for a long time. Yet, I can also "get" the struggle the jury must have felt. I didn't listen to or watch all they watched. Thank goodness. Just a few musings and my opinions.

Sean “Diddy” Combs will be sentenced in his federal criminal case on Oct. 3, a judge said Tuesday after probation officials rejected the defense and prosecution’s plan to move the date up by about two weeks.
…….
Combs’ lawyers want less than the 21 to 27 months in prison that they believe the sentencing guidelines recommend. Prosecutors contend that the guidelines, when properly calculated to include Combs’ crimes and violent history, call for at least four to five years in prison.

I heard that he got a standing ovation when he went back to jail. It’s sickening that people think he is some kind of hero.

Probably will spend several years in prison. Wow, what a hero. Inmates like it that he beat the system to a certain degree he did.
