OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025 *ex-husband arrested*

Yes I agree, more information and a time line will tell us how the crime unfolded from start to finish.

Possibilities on game day:
-She could have seen him on her Ring alert.
-A neighbor could have called or texted her.
-He could have emailed, called, texted her with a threat.
-He could have taunted her by showing her a picture of him standing in the middle of her house or bedroom.

Yes one of the possible reasons she returned to the hotel room was to call the police. And alert the person taking care of the children.
I think that, if it were a Ring alert, she would have called police to check her home. She definitely would have recognized her ex-husband. I believe the police have said that he did not have direct contact with MT.

The neighbor texting her about seeing a strange guy on their property makes a lot of sense to me. We don't know when/if the neighbor saw a stranger and if the neighbor was perhaps coming home and happened to see the stranger when he was leaving the property.

If the stranger was out front, wouldn't the Tepe's cameras pick up the image? I know that our Ring camera would have. If the person was in the backyard, maybe, the Tepe's didn't have a camera in the back?

Perhaps, after speaking to this neighbor (after the murders), the police went back to find video footage from that day and were able to trace the footage (like they did on the night of the murders) to identify the person as well as the vehicle the person was driving.

I can see MT, if she got a text, would be upset because she apparently knew instinctively how her ex-husband was. I imagine that MT would think that it could be her ex-husband if the neighbor described the person. If ST is anything like my husband, he would probably say, "Maybe, it was just someone cutting through our property. We'll be okay." BTW -

Police aren't going to take a call from MT seriously, anyway. They would ask questions like, "Has he been contacting or harassing you? Without any proof, we really can't do anything."

All of the above is just speculation...and I am usually wrong!

I had wondered upthread if MM was putting up hidden cameras on 12/6 when he was on her property. Specifically pointing at windows so he could watch the couple inside when they had their curtains open, thinking no one was watching cuz no one was in their yard. It feels safe, right?

I still don't know if that's what he did with the latest development that there is allegedly video of him entering the house, thanks to @Puzzles8, post HERE. But if he did put up hidden cameras outside... He very well could have watched the couple through the window. What a creep.

Here it is in the evening, and as suspected, their curtains aren't shut.

Yes I think she would have recognized her ex, and most likely phone it in if she got a ring alert he was on the property. Especially, if he had been harassing her recently.

If the police said MM had no direct contact with MT, how did MM threaten to move in next door and state he could kill her anytime?

The ring camera will pick up a certain area in the front of the house. But the range can be set by the owner. So it might only pick up someone right in front of the house or at the front door.
I don't know if the Tepes had a back door camera.

Yes after the murder, neighbors probably came forward to report what they knew.
Yes I think the dynamic you describe would be along the lines you suggest regarding the MT vs ST reaction.

Yes I am not sure what the police would have or could have done if MT called them after a ring alert. Maybe done a drive by or door check.

Spending time installing cameras on the outside windows seems very brazen and risky. And wouldn't the cameras be noticeable?

I think MM no longer cares what happens to him.

I totally agree. His mission is accomplished. He dominated. Monique suffered at his hands and now everyone who loved her will suffer her loss forever.

I think he considers spending his life in prison a price worth paying for what he accomplished.

Yes, a camera on a window would be very noticeable. I didn't mean to suggest they were on the windows. That wouldn't be very "hidden", would it? lol I had said installing hidden cameras and "Specifically pointing at windows".

So the cameras could be installed on trees or the ground pointing at the windows?

If he sent her a picture of him in her house, there is 0.0000% she is going back to that house and living there like nothing happened. There is just no chance.

Couldn't they?

I know if I wanted to install cameras (which are for watching/looking)... I'd definitely point them somewhere that I'm hoping to get pics/video of.

All of this is reasonable and exactly how I think it happened. Whatever happened was concerning to HER, but maybe not as concerning to everyone else in part because she didn't want to burden everyone with it. Her spidey senses would have been going off, she knows this monster of an ex, but ST would have tried to console her. Whatever it was, ST stayed at the game for the 2nd half while MT left, so that in itself tells you it was something relatively vague or uncertain.
