His mother was a drug addict, alcoholic and had her own version of Freak-Offs in the home when he was present (as a child). His father was MIA.

History repeating itself. The article is upthread but I will see if I can find it again.
I read the article about the documentary, thanks for sharing. Generational, as with many cases we see here at WS. What some children suffer in life is heartbreaking.

The fact that he thinks that it is okay to have his children, the daughters especially, see and hear the details is a sign of his extreme immoral character. Instead of having any remorse, he is normalizing his behavior by having his children there. No normal person would want their children to see this behavior. He is so gross.

What a gross statement given the age of his own twin daughters.

Cassie was only 21 when she started a relationship with Diddy. As for his daughters, he has three that are similar in age, as two women were pregnant at the same time. And he didn't marry either one.

There is another documentary on Diddy on Hulu, I am skipping it. My own opinion, is that Diddy has been long overdue for this trial. And more. I am still convinced he had more knowledge about the murder of Tupac in Las Vegas.

"My heart was breaking seeing her get beat like that," Clark said, at one point dabbing her eyes with a tissue as she quietly teared up.

Earlier that day, Combs kidnapped Clark while holding a gun and threatening to "kill" Kid Cudi and forcing Clark to come along while he broke into the rapper's home.

Clark eventually drove Ventura to Combs' house, where he assaulted Ventura and told Clark he would "f--k" her up if she intervened.
[snip]
Sean "Diddy" Combs' ex-assistant, Capricorn Clark, testified that the hip hop mogul once ran at her, shoving her 25 to 30 yards after she said she hated working for him.

I haven't really kept up with this, although I have watched the odd YouTube video about it - Bruce Rivers is always entertaining!

As with so many other cases, especially celebrity ones, I am completely staggered and blown away by the fact that people, usually who express themselves to be his friends, are still supporting this guy.

Regardless of whether he's guilty of all the sex trafficking and RICO charges, I can say with absolute 100% certainty that if I were to see a video of my "best mate" (as he's been alluded to by many) smacking his girlfriend to the ground, kicking the crap out of her and then dragging her by the hair along the floor he'd getting no more support from me! And that's the WS toned down way of expressing it.

He's an absolute psychopath and a monster. How anyone can condone that is utterly beyond me. That one incident alone should result in years of jail time, imo.

I have noticed that Diddy's "friends" are scarce. Not one person seems to be supporting him. And many people have fled to other countries, (Kanye), and are distancing themselves from him.

Something I was watching just yesterday was talking to his friend who is attending court wearing a "Free Puff" T-shirt.....and that shirt would carry a very different meaning on this side of the pond, I can tell you!

Maybe most of his friends have cleared off but there still seems to be an unusual amount of support for him from fans and the like.

The first paragraph of the three-count federal indictment against the music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs lays out in an overarching summary the serious and sprawling allegations against him.

“For decades, Sean Combs, aka ‘Puff Daddy,’ aka ‘P. Diddy,’ aka ‘Diddy,’ aka ‘PD,’ aka ‘Love,’ the defendant, abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct,” the indictment states. “To do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled – creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”

The indictment from the US Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York charges Combs with three counts: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he faces a sentence of up to life in prison.
“For decades…” precisely! Why prosecute now? Like Epstein, another monster. Both were doing evil deeds, assisted by countless employees, for decades…
What happened that finally caused their empire’s to crumble.

It's not easy to prosecute very wealthy (hence, powerful) people when they have lots of people and money looking out for them. Knowing that someone has done something is not the same as being able to prove it to the relevant criminal standard.

As regards all the alleged sex crimes - people who have been abused, especially those who have suffered coercive control - often don't come forward for years. Again, due to a multitude of reasons. Having known women who have been in some utterly horrible relationships, I can see exactly why it takes years for them to say anything.

Life is very rarely a collection of easy answers, unfortunately.

Edit: now that I've read through the post you quoted fully, the answers are there.

Agreed. His fans are very much like him. And that is a problem for society.

I think that the "me too" movement propelled many people to step forward. And I think society has changed quite a bit. What we accepted as a "norm" has changed.

Something happened to Epstein, Diddy, Weinstein, someone decided to bring them down. I fully believe that there has been something occurring. Same with Bill Cosby. So many of these abusers have been taken down. Larry Nasser. Did they become too cocky with their own power?!

And I’m terrified for anyone testifying in this case

Personally, I think it's just that things are changing and once a big hitter is sent down then people start to open up about the rest as they see it as becoming easier to do so.

I don't think it's a case of someone on high deciding to bring down the worlds powerful scum-bags, tbh. It's been happening slowly for a lot of years. Things really started to move here after Jimmy Savile was exposed (or rather the media, especially the BBC, couldn't cover it up any longer) in around 2012. It was going on long before that though with earlier paedo's such as Gary Glitter in the late 1990's and further back in the 1990's in relation to Jonathan King.

Once we got past Savile and later when very influential people like Weinstein were brought down, I think the momentum was pretty much unstoppabble.

I can't really see that anyone testifying is going to have any repercussions from SC. There's a very low chance he'll walk away from this without conviction on something and his power is basically gone because he'll drown in lawsuits and the government will take the rest.

Best of luck for Cassie! I am glad that the judge made the right call in taking Cassie off the stand within the week.

  • Nash alleged that Combs lifted him up in the air when Ventura turned up to a party with her hair styled in a way he disliked
  • Earlier, the judge presiding over Combs' federal trial rejected his defence team's bid for a mistrial
  • Combs faces charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He denies all of them
  • Ventura has testified that she endured abuse at the hands of Combs, including during so-called "freak-offs" - encounters in which the R&B singer had sex with male escorts while Combs directed them
  • Diddy trial updates - Cassie Ventura revealed blackmail of 'freak-off' videos to celebrity stylist
