I haven't read through this whole thread, so my apologies if this has already been floated, but I think, MOO, that these two never intended to meet up with JM or kill her husband. Her "not showing up at the manhole cover" was a non-issue for them. I think they used her for what they needed, but always had someone else, on the outside for help once free. Money, transportation, food, clothes, etc. Joyce was a just a another tool.

BINGO! This is exactly what I think too.

Welcome. :)

CNN just reporting Matt had given Tillie a painting. Could have swore I heard of her Children (didn't know she had more than one?) Tillie in turn gave it to Lyle for an Anniversary gift! Lordy!!!! So she would have to have given Matt a picture for him to paint it. I cant wrap my head around this woman.

I really never feel sorry for criminals, but I do feel slightly sorry for Tillie. This woman's self-esteem must be zero to create a relationship with this loser and agree to aide in getting him out. It is really pathetic for her and to think she had a husband and child while hatching this plan.

I am embarrassed for her and I do not know why; she is getting what she deserves.

As we all know, they are likely out of the area by now and I do think they have separated. There would be no reason to stick together and fending for yourself without extra weight is always easier.

From NY State Police:

PRESS RELEASE

On June 6, at 5:45 a.m. the New York State Police received a call from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora regarding two prisoners that were unaccounted for during a 5:30 a.m. bed check. The State Police are now currently searching for the two escaped prisoners.

They are:

Richard Matt, 48 years old, a white male, 6’ tall, 210 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes. He has tattoos on back “Mexico Forever”, a heart on his chest and left shoulder, and a marine corps insignia on his right shoulder.

David Sweat, 34 years old, white male, 5’11” tall, 165 pounds, brown hair and green eyes. He has tattoos on his left bicep and his right fingers.

Sweat is serving a sentence of life without parole following his conviction in Broome County for one count of Murder 1st Degree after he caused the death of a Broome County Sheriff’s Deputy on July 4, 2002. Sweat was transferred to Clinton Correctional on October 30, 2003.

Matt is serving a sentence of 25 years to life following his conviction in Niagara County for three counts of murder, three counts of kidnapping, and two counts of robbery after he kidnapped a male victim and caused his death by beating him on December 3, 1997. Matt was transferred to Clinton Correctional on July 10, 2008.

Both are considered to be a danger to the public. If located DO NOT approach them. Contact 911 or the New York State Police immediately at (518) 563-3761.

Anyone in the Dannemora area should contact the New York State Police if they saw or heard anything early this morning, or find that they have a vehicle which is unaccounted for.

Re Lyle's being told about the escape happening--

DA: I don't think it was until after (that Lyle knew)

I'm watching too and Anderson is no dummy. He has it figured out. ;) Not that it isn't pretty clear that it was her idea, but the DA was dancing around the issue and AC cut to the chase and just spelled it out lol.

Yeah, agree that Sweat would have had to have something to offer for them to stick together. I think that if the plan was for them to go separate ways neither would have known where the other would be headed in case one got snagged...one couldn't rat the other out.

If the plan changed and they're in the woods they might do better together acting as lookouts for one another or to better defend their location if it ends in a fire fight or to more easily over power someone in a home invasion.

With all due respect, why is the DA laying out his case to the media like this, before charges, etc

Even slipped and used term "her testimony" during Jake Tapper interview!

What's the role of DA in a situation like this? Is this usual in the county?

Wouldn't another LE figure, ie) the Sheriff, yes; State Police spokesperson, yes etc be speaking like this at this juncture, and not the DA?

So much went on in that Prison that should have been known and stopped. Now we hear an exchange of gifts!!!! Minor compared to all we know but I cant believe so much went unnoticed.

Yeah, they are are a boxing training glove - speed bag gloves. I think speed bags are those dangling punching bags that boxers punch real fast with coordination, but I am not sure about that.

Yes, light weight ones to train on the small speed bag, I believe. I was wondering about them too the other day. Maybe to punch the crap out of someone and not hurt their hands.

re the shoulder tattoo, the page I copied the image off of said this underneath it -

"Indeed, a Gawker search turned up no military records for Matt—whose other shoulder tattoo originally read “Mexico Forever.”"

http://gawker.com/if-you-meet-this-insane-escaped-killer-dont-believe-hi-1710131799

I would say you have the more reputable source but the fact that there is no picture of his back included with the tattoos and this one does appear to have said "forever" on it leads me to think this one might be correct. I will continue to look for a more definite answer.

And you are free to feel that way. All opines welcome. I hear what you are saying.

I think very unusual for an ongoing investigation. Didn't he say today yes she told us about the murdering her husband plan? Wouldn't that affect the jury pool if she is charged with that and goes to trial?
