TWCNews is still playing the same story without new details so far this morning. "Police have entered into day fifteen of the manhunt". I thought today was day fourteen? Didn't they escape on June 6?

ETA - I guess if it was overnight June 5/6 then they started searching ON June 6 so today would be day 15. I always thought it was overnght the 6/7th but I must have been mistaken.

The investigators have also obtained surveillance camera video of the two men, which was inconclusive, police said. NY county map for those who are interested. Dannemora is in Clinton. Broome is three counties to the right of Steuben. Sweat is from Broome county. Steuben county is where these possible sightings occurred. Rensselaer county is where Tillie is being held in the city of Troy in their county lockup.

ETA: the rail map of NY I posted a few pages back. These guys were sighted near Gang Mills rail yard in Steuben county.

Thanks! I'm very literal-minded and often have trouble with straight up written word which lacks the physical cues I often rely on to tell the spirit in which something is written. My aspie-like personality is largely an asset to me though because obsessive fact collection can be useful. It just sucks when I don't read people well, especially when I sometimes am in a group of people who rely heavily on sarcasm/teasing/etc. I always end up so confused LOL. Thanks again.

How did this escape my attention for 4 days? How strange and interesting. I wonder if they were really keeping notes just for themselves, or if they were for someone who was working on things during daytime hours, helping them out?

Yes, the stories are unrelated to one another. There are many stories out there the past few days about other prison escapes and most of them include a line or two at the start of the article about Matt and Sweat so they can piggyback on their story/ search engine results to get more clicks.

Note that Steuben county NY borders Tioga county PA (NOT the same as Tioga county NY), and Tioga county PA is where the Wellsboro train yard is located, mentioned in the map above. It says right next to the "Gang Mills" dot above that the route leads to Wellsboro, FWIW.

Rita's Way, in Gang Mills is just next to the railroad tracks. Those tracks run right into Broome County, Binghamton, NY, Sweat's home territory. That track that we were talking about that runs along the western coast of Lake Champlain goes down to Binghamton.

If those two sightings (one on the 13th and the 2nd on the 14th) were them, they must have made their way to Lake Champlain, then down to Binghamton (did Sweat stop off to say hi to Mom?) and then west. IF them, I wonder why they got off the train at Rita's Way? (the track continues on down to Lindley, on the other side of Tioga River from County Rte 115, where they were reportedly seen, and then into PA). Maybe to find some food?

If that were them, that was almost a week ago. They've probably hopped back on the train and could be anywhere by now.

It took a while to accumulate 64 bed sheets. Must be too time consuming for thorough cell inspections as common practice.

There has been LE stationed outside Sweat's mothers home since they broke out FWIW.

My thoughts, which may well be useless:
if they were really on the NY PA border a week ago then they could be many places by now, including the bordering states of Ohio, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland. and Delaware. I wonder if there have been any suspicious robberies/etc in any of those locations recently? Or sightings? IMO WV and Maryland would be the ones to watch.

A couple of thoughts…

If this was as well thought out after leaving the facility as it may have been then...
The two would not still be together. Harder to find two who separated then the both of them.
Much easier to spot a pair of men when the public is looking for a pair…this pair together to me are a distinctive looking pair
Eyewitness accounts are historically inaccurate
