I've got the grey screen disease again today so finding it hard to quote. But, getting back to that article -- it specifically said Clinton was where the corruption scheme was discovered and the bed sheets and all. It even said Ernest Murphy was being held at Clinton for trial, which is inaccurate, because you're not held for trial in a state prison. That article was just shoddy journalism all the way through.

Now, as far as the possible sightings on the NY/PA line -- GGE - I think you may be right as to why the delay -- they're combing through all those tips, and just realized two in same place. Or...maybe they were so sure they were in the area of the prison, they weren't giving much attention to those further afield.

Interesting that they may be still together. And alive. I found myself trying to figure out what there would be to eat in the woods at this time of the year, that would involve NOT needing fishing lines and hooks or bow and arrow. And a fire to cook stuff. Came up with dandelions and grubs/insects and birds eggs. Of course, there were fields and farms in the area, so they could maybe get strawberries and other produce.

ETA: they escaped either very late on Friday night, June 5 or early hours of Saturday, June 6

Please go post about the grey box issue in the Forum Finesse forum's thread on this issue. I have a solution that I use, personally, but which isn't safe to suggest for others due to possible issues with your ability to access other sites, and because you will have to click a box that says you understand you could void your computer's warranty if you use this fix. But I posted a solution to it over there already, I am not sure why it's not working for everyone if they have implemented it properly. I would volunteer to fix the code myself but I have faith in their coding person's ability to fix the code in all of the forum's php files. Hopefully they do get it sorted soon because I wouldn't even be able to post/like/comment/ANYTHING on WS if it wasn't for shutting down javascript completely on my machine.

My property on the NY/PA border has wild strawberries that are about the size of blueberries right now which are ripe and won't get any larger. The wild blackberries, black raspberries, and dewberries are just now dropping their flowers to begin forming the very green rudimentary berries. Strawberries are farmed in large number in some areas here, as evidenced by the Strawberry Festival that is being kicked off today in the town of Owego, NY for example. Fish can be eaten raw (think sushi) however I'm not sure i'd eat "river pigs" as my husband calls fish in the susquehanna. But I know that many people do. I don't know about the Tioga river's fish. However our rivers have been very very low recently so that you can almost walk across hte susquehanna, until the torrential downpours off and on over the past week which have stirred up a lot of sediment and made the rivers muddy. There have been a lot of flash flooding situations around here the past few days but I do not know specifically about Steuben county.

all of this is just FWIW

ETA - for those who don't know, this whole area isi largely wilderness, state game land area, farms, large acreage plots... personally drive almost an hour round trip to get groceries unless I want to stop at the local tiny general store type place that is overpriced and undersupplied. The thigns I pass the most of are cornfields and cows. Upstate NY/Pennsylvania is VERY rural unless you're in a city or suburban area. If I hike my acreage and go a bit further I'd walk right over the state border and never know it.

A couple of thoughts…

If this was as well thought out after leaving the facility as it may have been then...
The two would not still be together. Harder to find two who separated then the both of them.
Much easier to spot a pair of men when the public is looking for a pair…this pair together to me are a distinctive looking pair
Eyewitness accounts are historically inaccurate

The problem with your post is that you're probably right, and that gives us nothing new to go on. LOL. But yes I'm sure you are right about all of that...

What browser do you use? Have you tried a different one just to see if it might be the browser?

GGE Thank you for all your posts!!

Thank you for thanking me, I get a bit "mouthy" in the morning hours from about 6am -10am usually, then quiet down for the rest of the day until evening at least. I often spend the middle hours of the day thinking about how I should come back and delete/edit some stuff because I always think "well that wasn't helpful and probably came off like a real know-it-all!" .. I hope that isn't the case but I know it's a personality flaw that I have. So I appreciate you reassuring me even though you didn't know you were doing that.

Its' the broken javascript tag in the forum coding. Anyone who codes knows it should say

</script>

and not

</sc-'

'ript>

But there might be another issue as well. I didn't want to overstep by reading all of the source info for all of the webpages to troubleshoot it when I wasn't invited to do so.

ETA: as a person with one of my degrees in internet programming/web design I felt comfortable searching for how to shut down javascript in my browser and implementing that fix. I wouldn't recommend anyone else do so, and I certainly do NOT represent websleuths in any way shape or form with my posts about what I personally believe the problem to be. I could be wrong. Just because this "fix" works for me doesn't mean it will for anyone else, and it means I have to toggle it back off and on for each and every website I visit. So like I said I wouldn't recommend this to anyone else. This is why I haven't said anything much about it here.. websleuths is a great site and I wouldn't want anyone to do something to their computer that they read about here and then end up unable to access anyplace else and blame WS or something. Plus they rely on javascript for serving up the ads and without it enabled nobody will see them and they'll lose revenue that goes towards keepign this place online for us all, AFAIK. So hopefully we can all hold tight and wait for them to sort this out as much as possible.

But I do volunteer to do it myself if I can, if I'm invited to do so via PM or email.

I truly appreciate it!!
And today's updates, just wow!! Do you think if I have more coffee I will be any less dumbfounded about this possible sighting a week ago...that we are just now hearing about? Nope...probably not. They should have released this info, IMO!!

Apparentley the Correctional Officer that was suspended friday has not been to work since the escape.

I'm just now really letting this sink in.

Hasn't been to work SINCE THE ESCAPE.

Is this corrections officer missing, or just no-showing for work since the day they went missing??

If these guys were spotted in Erwin and Lindley, New York state a week ago, that gives them another week to go another 140 miles North to Buffalo which is where Matt is from, and why his brother had 200 SWAT team guys at his house this week. Or, 80 miles East to Binghamton where Sweat is from, and knows the area backwards.

Other options were keep going south they have all that parkland in PA, or catch other trains to the south. They are way out ahead of the police and this is proof that 3000 tips don't mean much if you follow up the wrong ones. Assuming this tip is good.

One more thing, if they only traveled 380 miles in a week, that could only mean freight train or stolen vehicle. They must have been disguised both working in a tailor shop and Sweat being the shop leader. Hell they could have made state trooper outfits, or anything they wanted with Joice watching over them. The third guy arrested supplied the money, maybe food, and wherewithal to get out of dodge. Maybe the ride to the freight train that escape night. He also could have planted their scent in the area too. Many theories now.

As a resident of New York state I am furious! How could they have kept this new information under wraps for a week does not bode well for the people who live here. These two could have been almost any place in the state and no one knew? Why? Did they hide in my back yard? Sickening

HMMM Was the corrections officer AWOL or on administrative leave since the escape? If he was just AWOL, we certainly should have been warned. Could he have been the getaway driver?? EEK

Has it been said if this CO is a male or a female?

"“They are executing a search warrant at the correction officer’s home. He is expected to be arrested in a few days,” a source told The Post.

Speaking about the officer’s possible connection to the escape, the source said, “They like him for this.”"

http://nypost.com/2015/06/20/guard-put-on-leave-in-connection-with-escaped-murderers/

I don't understand that last line. Can anyone translate that into Sense for me?

Has it been said if this CO is a male or a female?

According to one of GGE's awesome posts, the CO is male.

Was it admiration for Matt and/or Sweat?

Was it naivete?

Was it love?

Was it sexual favors?

Were they manipulated by the cons?

Did they receive a few of Matt's paintings in exchange for their help?

Did Matt and/or Sweat have cash available on the outside to pay off CO/COs?

I don't think so. Matt and Sweat MAY have had plenty of "dirt" on the CO/COs and used it to blackmail them to do their bidding MOO

A person who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the continuing inquiry said investigators were focused on as many as four corrections officers who either had switched their posts in the months before the escape or had often been seen at night around the cellblock where the two men were housed. Among other documents, the officers&#8217; bank and phone records were being examined.
