Here is the story, where it says he was put on Administrative Leave on Friday.

I guess they could have learned about the cabin on Friday...

Can anyone explain what the term "camp" or "hunting camp" means? Is this just a shack? Are they open to the public or privately owned? I understand "cabin" but trying to understand the difference between cabin and camp. TIA.

Here in the Northeast,we call a camp anything that's sort of a 2nd home.It could be anywhere from a shack with no utilities to a beautiful home.

A camp may be less polished then a cabin. Camp usually referred to by hunters who use the property just for hunting but both can mean the same. Someone from the city may own a cabin to spend time in the country.

Could Gene Palmer be an owner of the hunt cabin?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the owner the one who witnessed one of them running out after catching him in the cabin? I think I read the owner called police immediately and said the water and peanut butter were out and things in the cabin were out of place.

If that's the case, I'm wondering if he does, however, own one in the area and is suspected of giving info to Matt and Sweat about this one being vacant.

Wasn't he suspended from work the day the owner called in that tip?

MSM has not said the names of who owns the cabin. The facebook ilnk I bumped above discusses the situation. Its the same link where the info about the prison underwear came out more than 12 hours before LE just made it public. FWIW

It's owned by several COs. Only one was being interiewed by LE AFAIK on Saturday while the person was being seen slipping away by an owner.

This is a lot of information being hung on a FB comment by an admitted "friend of a friend - insider". I posted this FB page yesterday on the "downstairs" thread because we can be more free with information.

It could turn out to be totally accurate.

But I still think that this is a rabbit hole that we should all be cautious about.

It's my understanding some are rustic and some aren't. I know when we head up to the cottage in N. Ont. cell service is spotty at best but satellite tv is great.

I really hope that Matt & Sweat didn't find any weapons lying around. I'll be very relieved if the hunt ends without any LE or innocent civilians being killed.

My original theory that the escapees were long gone was almost certainly dead wrong.

Our camp has electricity, running water, and direct tv. I think it may be considered more of a cottage, but we call it a camp. My cousin has a hunting camp (more like a drinking camp) not too far from this area being searched and it started as an aluminum camper and then became a rustic cabin, but is now a full blown house - we still call it the hunting camp.

ETA: In other words I think that we would need to see a photo of the structure to be certain.
