Any typos will be fixed shortly, I'll just be typing and posting as fast as I can to try not to miss anything for now.

I'll actually use TWCNews instead of CNN, not that it should make any difference:

We hope to hear from the Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wiley. (anchor is reviewing the specs and crimes for both men now while waiting for the news conference to begin)-

Good afternoon I'm Major Guess joined by Wiley and Franklin county DA McNeil along with other LE.

In this search Dannemora region remains primary focus, residents will notice strong LE focus in Bellmont, also there's no evidence they're in Malone but a search will begin to make sure those residents are safe. 75 square miles in Franklin county is the approx search area. Will continue to partner with other LE offices and aggressively follow leads, we appreciate the public's continued assistance, call 911 if anything comes up on trail cameras etc. We've investigated every sighting and lead so far all are unsubstantiated, we have trackers etc following each lead, this remains very much a joint effort, again we ask public to keep reporting anything out of the ordinary and again thank other LE departments for help, now introducing a Forest Ranger, Deputy ?

Adirondack park is the largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi, (talks about region), mountains, hills, ravines, heavily forested, timber lands, thick undergrowth, vegetation is dense, saplings, vegetation, brush, wetlands, rivers, streams, thick bogs, limited visibility, road system is secondary which slows vehicle movement, hundreds of seasonal homes and camps, we continue to secure them as we identify them, but we encourage homeowners to report anything out of the ordinary, also lots of rain and biting insects. these conditions are the very reason we built Clinton Correctional Facility in this area 100+ years ago. thank you

questions- back to Major - numerous items were recovered from the cabin, can't say what they were, no definitive info someone was injured, lets face it a bloody sock could be a blister, anything that would hinder them and aid the searchers would be a good thing for us.

time is always a concern, it generally works against LE in the immediate response but works for searchers long term -bottom line don't want these guys to have a single restful night, no matter how long this lasts we 'll find them..

(someone asked if they stole a shotgun, he didn't take that question)

their distance [they could've traveled by now from the cabin] could be significant if their travel was unimpeded but this terrain is very difficult to work with, unimpeded on a trail you could go easily 10 miles per day

what makes me think they're together? well, what makes me think they're not? we're planning for both possibilities and have been since day one, either has certain advantages.

was a shotgun missing and also what about the COs who had access to the cabin (missed the rest )

won't comment on the CO part - regarding the shotgun, widely reported claims that one is missing are out there but I can't confirm that, anyone out here knows almost every cabin in the north country has one or more shotguns, they are out there and know we'e coming why wouldn't they immediately arm themselves? logic would dictate that we would be able to know if they stole a gun but they (the COs) had put an inordinate amount of guns and ammo within these cabins in these areas but they did not have an inventory and we cannot say for sure

perimeter is a very definitive term which I have not used without using air quotes (makes the gesture as an example) but the 75 square miles is a very broad figure (missed the rest)

we're continuing to develop that particular aspect of the investigation daily if not hourly what we know for sure is Tilly helped, we're looking at all leads at what or who aided them in their escape (paraphrasing)

(will post and continue)

@NyStatePolice can't confirm that the #PrisonBreakNY escapees took a shotgun from the cabin, but they believe they are armed @news4buffalo

(continued press conference, Guess taking questions)

we have virtually 100% assurance they were in that area but a sighting would indicate I have some kind of photographic evidence to corroborate that or a visual description so definitive that we can tell you that, but the witness saw a subject fleeing into the woods and that's the best.. (something, missed it)

We have over 1000 LE in this area and I (emphasis his) believe they were last seen around 1030am on Saturday morning. thank you.

JMO They have to presume that they are armed, just as prison employees must presume that criminals are up to no good....JMO

:gaah:I'm still waiting to hear how Tillie got those glasses with lights in the Prison :scared:

Maybe she had several of them in the Taylor shop? My daughter got me one, it was a headband and the handle would touch my shoulder and you could bend the it. It lit up, a clear light or pushed the button twice to get a red light. It also had a magnifying glass.

Is it just me or is the spacing of the officers a bit too close and a huge waste of manpower and money? No wonder they need so many people if they are putting them this close together. We saw a similar thing over the week end.

What do they expect that one of the inmates may run out in front of them or try and go between them? With their high power rifles, the LEO are going to shoot and kill. This looks to be an overkill situation! I am just not understanding the game plan that is being used.

I wonder if they had plans with someone on the outside to meet up somewhere with them? Also, even if it rained so hard to wash away the scent, they would be leaving new scent and dogs could still pick up on it. Sounds like they dont have a clue where these guys are at.

According to Lyle's interview, it sounds like she doesn't drive much or leave the house without him, so I'm not sure how she would have pulled off the get-away car. Maybe that's what induced the panic attack to begin with? The thought that she would have to drive somewhere alone at night?

I don't find driving somewhere alone at night nearly as scary as having to approach escaped convicted murderers alone.

Did anyone else catch the part when a reporter asked if any of the COs who rent the cabin had previous contact with the inmates? He answered by saying he will not comment on that.

If I heard it right, that's pretty telling IMO. If all the CO renters of that cabin worked the other prison we've heard about, I feel like he would have said so.

What about his comment that he had "no comment on any of the cabin CO's having interaction with them"....WOW

Cabin owners cannot definitively say how many weapons they had or if something is missing because they are "shared cabinsl #PrisonBreakNY

Major Guess: no confirmation that a shot gun is missing from the cabin, but acknowledges it's been widely reported #PrisonBreakNY

Just in response to watching Major and then rereading GGE's transcription (which seems to have come in real time BTW) he appeared much more confident. This is just a humble observation but I've seen him speak previously, so this was my gut reaction.

"An inordinate amount of weapons coming in and out of the cabin and no inventory"

I typed iti as I watched it live on TWCNews, and when I switched to CNN before and after they were still in South Carolina so I'm not sure if they showed it on delay or what?

ETA it began at 12:06 I believe. Might help in determining if other networks are showing it on delay for some reason.

I watched it from the first streamed link that Greater Than posted (which I appreciated). I will be out shopping most of the afternoon but will look forward to catching up here later!

What about his comment that he had "no comment on any of the cabin CO's having interaction with them"....WOW

There was a previous post about one of the cabin owners having a "higher up Position". I wonder if one of the owners of the cabin had direct contact with these 2 and perhaps they headed there on purpose as their place to let the heat die down.

If directions were something like
"follow the main overhead transmission eleectric lines until you spot the cabin off to the side"

It may have not been too hard for them to find it if given unique directions like that.

Its either that or a random find by the 2.
