NY - Seven-foot-tall head found floating in Hudson

:
I wonder if there is a Headless Horseman roaming the area... Searching for his head?

:bud:

It is with humbled heart & broken spirit that I concede your wit has been the first to transcend that guttersnipe of corn...(bah dumpump)...the pun. Take a bow, please. :takeabow:

brings a whole new meaning to "heads will roll". :giggle:

Yes, LaborDayRN...it also brings a whole new meaning to "keeping one's head above water!"
As George Costanza would say, "I'm back baby!!!"

Oh please....:blushing:

Your accolades are only giving me a big head... (gorsh!)

So now that you're wearing the head honcho crown, any suggestions for repurposing that buoyant bust? (Or this thread, which is sucking out my iq at an alarming rate :dracula:)

Even though IHAVENOCLUE started it! :escape:

No worries! I love where this thread is headed.

I'd give an arm and a leg to know the original source of this head.

Good sleuthing Paul! :great:

It sounds like that head has many interesting stories to tell.. If it could speak!

:D

Yes, a shame it is not one of TV's talking heads

Oh.....the imagery! You'd be off balance...probly running in circles like a chicken with its head cut off.

This article has a photo of the head from last year, when it was quietly resting in the woods, about 25 miles upriver.
http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130427/NEWS/304270343

So the most likely explanation is that it was dumped in the woods several years ago, and then recently someone rolled it down the hill, across the railroad tracks, and into the river.

So, it was previously hanging out in someone else's neck of the woods?

*Thank goodness it wasn't a floating booty... imagine all those one-liners! It reminds me of this thread (which still makes me laugh)

I was going to share something with you all since today is Punday, but I see you are all a head of me already.

Frst words out of the boat captain's mouth that day "What's that in the waves ahead?"

Oh Kimster...

Please DO share...

You do know that two (or about 20 in this case) heads are better than one!

Yes... I was wondering... who "nose" how long this thread will last? :dunno:

But it seems like the mythical gods of mirth are helping it to go headlong into obscurity...

It looks like this particular mythical god of mirth died laughing his head off... And he was designated his place in the nether world...

BTW... since I started with an IQ of about 3 .... I really have nuttin' to lose!

Come on.....no need to bite my head off! We're all on edge after yesterday's shocking Mount Rushmore headline: "Stunned World Collectively Gasps in Shock at Mt. Rushmore Head Stealing Caper"

Oh yeah, obscurity's fast acomin'....I did a head count, & there are enough of us popping in and out here that, even factoring in time off for work, family, & (the inevitable) headaches, we should be able to keep this thing going until....uh...Wednesday?

(SECRET TIP {not for your eyes, IHAVENOCLUE}: For those wanting to add their own not-at-all-funny-pun to this groan fest, yet, perhaps, being new to or rusty with American English idioms, just Google "phrases with the word head." You'll get all sorts of linguistic lists. And if you end up putting your foot in your mouth, well that's another thread for another day, isn't it...lol)

:sothere: lol...then he said (while scratching his head), "well, blimey! It's a big old floating head!"
