Well, let's be honest. The obvious inference is that a right wing criminal did this. Isn't that the whole point of mailing out bombs to the top Democrats?
You don’t have to be Republican to be anti-Democrat. IMO the bomber’s personal ideology matters more than his political party. But his targets definitely suggest, imo, he leans a certain way. Maybe in an “alt” fashion.

Do his targets suggest he leans a certain way? Is it possible that he is trying to send a false message out?

Okay, folks, I gave this thread the ol' college try. Ain't working.

Carry on.

From what I read, none of them had enough postage. And the contents would have been easily seen as dangerous if checked in a cursory way. Which is why most were instantly detected.

I don't think any of them were expected to be detonated or even making it to their destinations. JMO IMO

Why would a republican send these out 7 days before the midterms? Would they want this political blowback, 24/7? I don't think so.

There is only one political party that is benefitting from this October surprise right now. JMO
Could be the person or group isn't thinking about political fallout. Might be feeling heroic as though they are doing a service to rid the world of those they are told are bad on a daily basis.
In other words taking a cue from a person in position of power.
I also doubt the recipients feel any benefit to getting these packages.

Well, let’s be honest.

My point was, again, just to state facts. No LE or other official has said or inferred that the perpetrator is “a Democrat” or “a Republican.”

There is no statement or evidence from LE or FBI that the perpetrator is anything other than a criminal.

They have not said they know his motives.

And to insinuate “a Democrat” would mail pipe bombs to “a Democrat” is clearly victim-blaming without a scintilla of factual evidence to support it at this time.

All MOO, natch.

I don’t see anyone claiming “a Republican” did this. I also don’t see LE or anyone else saying “a Democrat” did this.

A CRIMINAL DID THIS.
Well said!

I was thinking about the Austin bomber earlier this year, terrorizing the city with his actions. LE got him quickly but he did a lot of damage, and we still don't know why. Unless they find a manifesto or catch the guy alive and he spills his guts we may never know what this is about.

Or maybe we learn and it doesn't even make sense.

How much does it cost to mail something first-class if it’s only an ounce or two?

Mailing first-class items costs about 50 cents the first ounce and about 25 cents each additional ounce, right?

Are stamps still 49 cents each?

Trying to look up the exact info, but my phone browser keeps locking up. :(

So far, all of the packages have had printed addresses and 6 stamps. 6 stamps is only $3 which is less than *any* First class package costs (at retail cost, if you buy online at somewhere like PayPal or Stamps.com, you can ship light packages for <$3). So I don't think any of them went through the post office unless carriers and clerks both dropped the ball on checking that the package had enough postage for the weight. The package that CNN received was delivered via courier according to this article.

Also, the printed addresses might help find the culprit because apparently, some household printers print hidden tracking code on every page printed. Kinda neat.

The stamps may be another red herring, the culprit may be hoping to put some blame on USPS for "delivering" these packages even when they aren't.

Anyone doubting the terrorists' affiliations should immediately look to the lockstep immediacy of the response of the false flag crowd. The big question here is who also had prior knowledge of events.

I don't think a person would risk their freedom to send a fake message. IMO

Attacks like this one - in which no one was injured - depend on the context of their occurrence. What else might be their intent? What else may they have already injured in times to come? This is the essence of bloodless terror: to cause present affright, thus to control the future.

Maybe trying to save the country from the people they've been told are rigging or fixing the election. Just a timely possibility that comes to mind. I remember there were some issues and incidents in 2016 when people were convinced voting fraud was a threat to the election.

And the stamps weren't cancelled so it wasn't sent through the postal service. How did it get to CNN without it being mailed?

So how did CNN get this pic before it was mailed?

USPS will deliver a pipe bomb for under $3.00?

What other bombers have targeted themselves or people like them to appear as if they were victims and targets? You have the links, please share 'em! Thanks in advance.

Eric Rudolph? No. Unabomber? No. Timothy McVeigh? No. Helder? No.

Anti-abortion violence? Also no.

I think they might. Especially if they knew they would never be caught.

Last century, novelist and activist Upton Sinclair wrote, "Fascism is capitalism plus murder." We can retrofit that into the current conversation: "Nationalism is capitalism plus attempted murder."

Oh they will be caught. This is a big deal in spite of the attempts to downplay it. IMO
