As Dushi said previously, it seems very difficult to both commit suicide, and hide your own body, so I don't believe this is what happened-even if you jump off of a bridge, the body is frequently found. This is pretty far-fetched, but is it possible that she is in witness protection? I really don't know how this works, but would your family know if you are? Again, very low on my possibility radar. It seems likely that the fiance, at the very least, knows more than he has said. I wonder if he really did get the ring back (and not just the musings of the salesman who knows him)?

I don't know much about that but, it seems that if you are in such danger, your family would be in great danger if they knew where you were?

So My guess is no, they may not know... JMHO

At the risk of being insensitive, I have to ask if anyone has attempted to match Sylvia with unidentified bodies that may have been found since her disappearance?

Yes

her name was on one list I saw
I didn't look further

The person was unidentified but Sylvia was ruled out

Quote:
"The ring is listed along with clothing and a watch"

If they have the ring and not her body, maybe they found the ring somewhere? That would be a clue as to what direction she might have gone after she exited the car.

It still does not explain why LE would hand over the ring to the boyfriend though.

A pawn shop crossed my mind but I just don't know

Please see attached police report and newspaper article re Sylvia's engagement

What's the date of the engagement announcement?

According to the announcement, they appeared to share a common interest/love of music.

Was Ms. Lwowski still attending Wagner College when she went missing, or had she placed her education on hold for a term or more?

I tried a bit.

Probably ought to check New Jersey and Connecticut, as well.

The ring...........

When she was reported missing, someone had to tell LE what she was wearing
The ring is listed along with clothing and a watch
How in h*ll can he have the ring?

If she returned it, why is it listed in the report?

IF he does have the ring, he had it the night she disappeared
She has never been found so it wasn't returned to him at a later date

The mother made the missing person report, and would likely have listed it as having been on her-maybe if Sylvia gave it back to him and then took off, maybe he didn't say so before she made the report.

Missing college students
A list of MPs who were undergraduates in college when they disappeared. In no particular order, and with the usual caveat that I inevitably missed some.

Sylvia Lwowski, Wagner College

Excellent, a huge possibility
Thank you

In a fashion similar to the convenient silence of Det. Lennon - friends have, over time, lost interest, is my understanding.

Anyone find a first name on Det. Lennon of 122 on Staten Island, NY?

Why did Det. Lennon "advise/s he will not handle?"

Did he know Ms. Lwowski's fiance?

Pennsylvania,too-according to the "Iceman", lots of NY people's bodies were dumped there-at least, he did. I am not saying that he is responsible, just that it was a common thing to do

I can see a woman throwing her engagement ring at her Fiance in anger
Not so much her glasses

Doesn't seem to make the same point...

No, the glasses don't quite do the trick as well. :floorlaugh:

OTOH, Sylvia's fiance may have demanded or asked for it back. Perhaps, he called off the engagement/marriage.

The engagement ring may have had substantial value. Would want it returned.

Either way, Ms. Lwowski's mother appeared to be unaware of the ring being returned to Sylvia's fiance at the time she reported her daughter missing.

That may be what she was angry at

Unsure whether or not Ms. Lwowski had completed her degree from Wagner College then...Is that accurate, or fair to say?

No job listed at time mother reported Sylvia missing.

Depressed mental state listed.

One sees the portrait that was painted here...

I am confused about her being still at Wagner or if she had graduated in 74
I do see the portrait

It would be so helpful to know more about her,how she was living her life, her dreams and wishes

Was she independant?
Did she have a lot of good friends?
What were her plans for her future?

Her depression, was that a new thing or had she struggled for a long time?

Her relationship with the fiance.. bumpy? solid?

Ms. Lwowski's address is listed as the same address as the parent's at the time her mother reported her missing.

No place of employment listed, and unsure whether term taken off from college or not that September 1975.

Was not financially independent yet.
