I know-that seemed weird to me, too. I wonder what the specifics were? I mean, did he drive right to her house and tell her family that and give them the glasses? I wonder if she had a history of angry impulsive behavior-this may have been completely out of character for her, or maybe it wasn't?

These are the kind of questions we need answers to

I wonder what Theater they went to that night? There was one in 1977 on Staton Island, Forest Avenue, formally called the Jerry Lewis Theater. A girl by the name of Audrey Lyn Nerenberg, 18 years old went missing in july of 77 after leaving the movie theater. Serial killer Andre Rand lived in make-shift camps not far from there.

Breaker Breakerr -

The theatre - Richmond Avenue - near staten island mall. There had been a crazy eddie's near there - or CE's opened near there after.

BF did not return the glasses.

BF was not of any help at all. This kind of behavior is similar to an event that heppened to famed wrestler, Jake "The Snake" Roberts. He lost his sister - eventually asked her ex where he put the body..

"Please, just tell us where you hid the body," he and his family would ask.

"Fu** you. We aren;t telling you shi**."

True story - from the wrestling doc "Beyond The Mat" (1999)

Youtube. The Cast of Alice ... Wagner College, Staten island, New York (NY). Graduates: Sylvia Lwowski (1970-1974), Janice Mrozek (1971-1975), Stu Plotkin ...

Great research - yes, Wagner. The sorority establishment has been consolidated since then - making efforts to identify her sisters difficult.

Your first line, in blue, the BF did not return the glasses? Did the police find them somewhere? I'm confused.

Let's Create a List - a Top Ten - of open questions- Word on the street is J-moose os working on a map ;-)

I need to have a look, too - re: map - just been sick - lung problems. But I will get this list started - and we can modify it by placing a weight next to each question. The greater the weight - the higher on the list:

1. The Glasses: what's the real story.

Breaker Breaker:

Here is the overriding reason why she was described as depressed.

Three days prior to her disappearance, Sylvia Lwowski had a pool party at her parents house (she lived there, too). She invited her girlfriends.

Her Dad, who had been a life long army man, talented chef, and an acrobat who could impress many with his manuevers of strength and dexterity, also enjoyed a cool one every now and then. Like any proud father, Syvlia's Dad wanted to make an appearance at the party - or at least - to simply say hi.
[[[Please remember, the following has most likely been distorted by police and the BF, in ways to promote their evil methods))))))

Well, as the party advanced thorugh the first few hours, Sylvia Lwowski's dad made his appearance. He started doing tricks for the girls, walking on his hands, doing flips into the pool etc. Perhaps after a few Pabst Blue Ribbons, the show wasn't as entertaining as it should have been - or at least, could have been.

Sylvia Lwowski thought this, at least. She was embarrassed. Her father had embarrassed her. Ever since then - between the pool party and her disappearance (THREE DAYS) she did not talk to her father... they did not speak. She obvi confided this tale to her BF....
So now we know - concretely why she is described as depressed.
As it turns

First of all, this exactly the kind of information that makes a huge difference in what avenues to follow

I will add, i smiled through most of your post. What young person has not found their parents a total social embarassment at one time or another?

I expect at the age of 12, this would have been hugely entertaining to her and her peers. not so much as she grew up

i expect she woke the next morning, mortified by what she believed to be an embarassing situation in front of her friends

The important facts here ...

her depression/anger, whatever is perfectly explainable
It has a beginning
And there was a reason for it,

Quite a difference in long term depression which really says something completely different

It must have been awful for her Dad to live with the fact that they were not speaking. I am sorry.

Question?

What did she do that day?
Was it spent with friends, with fiance?

What was their relationship like leading up to her disappearance?

This is true - but this cannot be used (as it appears to have already been) as a REASOn for her "runaway."

This offered the killler opportunity - however incompetent he is or is not - he used this to his advantage - which makes me sick.

Yes, i can see how a story like this could be given as a reason to run

However... she wasn't sixteen, she had no means of support? She was educated.

Would an adult run away forever because of a disagreement with her father?

Its rather a wild assumption for me

IF her fiance did not return Sylvia's glasses to either LE or her parents, then I would think her glasses would be with her handbag and other belongings...he didn't have them, then...no reason not to return them given the circumstances??

It appears that the location that Sylvia was last seen according to the Police Report:

K-Mart Plaza/Richmond __ is the area of the movie theater.

The movie theater would have been The Island Theatre:

2875 Richmond Ave, 10314

If you scroll through the comment section at site linked below, there is a reference to a K-Mart store that had been there in the early 70's, as well as to extension (later) of the K-Mart Shopping Plaza.

An adult with no means of support or place to live wouldn't run off to parts unknown over something like that and never contact the mother or siblings again, in my humble opinion. But it could cause her to be in an aggravated state, and easily overwrought. I wonder if her general state of mind at that time was the catalyst for a fight with the fiance?

Does anyone know if this was ever listed or investgated as anything other than a runaway?

Thanks so much for that insight, that would be quite depressing, but for some reason I'm feeling there was more for her to be depressed about? Could be wrong, been wrong before. Like its something more life changing, is it possible that because she wouldn't speak to her father they also had some sort of argument and he asked her to move out? (I had three kids, :) some arguments can get pretty hairy and sometimes things are said that we don't mean). Just some thoughts.

I don't believe I offered to make a map! I am a Luddite, and a relative late-comer to technology (lol)! A map would help, I agree, but we need a timeline, first
