I wonder what Theater they went to that night? There was one in 1977 on Staton Island, Forest Avenue, formally called the Jerry Lewis Theater. A girl by the name of Audrey Lyn Nerenberg, 18 years old went missing in july of 77 after leaving the movie theater. Serial killer Andre Rand lived in make-shift camps not far from there.

Breaker - Breaker - II of III (sorry for typos - i am ill today)

Description of Relationship.
So we know they had been together for between 18 months and 24 months. They both attened the same high school. Based upon age - it appears this relationship formed when they were sophomores or Juniors in college. Not much in the way of details into this relationship - Sylvia was very private, but there were no big blow-ups or events of note. It was a seemingly quiet pair - from what any observers could gain

The HUNT Continues.
After Sylvia Lwowoski's mom finished her desperate search for her daugfhter - on the night she disappered, she reached out to Sylvia Lwowski's good friend, and the two decided to take a trip up to Wagner college (mobile phone thought enters my mind) to see if she went up there - obvi, no luck.

LE

It has been noted from eyewitness accounts that the police handling the case at the time, LE, were not too friendly, helpful, respectful, dutiful, civil, curteous, gracious, polite... but rather - in the way they hadled inquiries from the family (ok, I know they have a lot of these cases, and these guys arent the smartest people in the world, i dont care how many hours of traing or how much reading they do - but still- they should display some kind of parallel desire to strengthen synergies that they want to help, and will do what they can) but rather - their demeanor, attitude, and handling of inquiiries can best be described as (if you want to make a kitchen run for acool soda, or makesome coffeeed, please do so now) insulting, irreverent, discourteous, insolent, rude, uncivil, unhelpful, indifferent...
Reports cite how they really werenl;t helpful at all. They didnt do anything. Sylvia;s Mom would call in and be crying just to draw attention to the case - but these efforts were unable to secure anyhting more than the RUN-A-ROUND, which is what the Lwowski's were getting.

*** Note to file - Hey. I said it before, and I will say it again, I admire, and have abundat respect for LE, they are great, and the majority of them I look up to respect, and finf to be of the greatest character. It is unfortunate how some can tarnish the reputations of many - for the record.

{'''''''.........:::::: PLEASE POOL BRAIN WAVES....::::::..... THANKS!!""")

I don't suppose LE asked him where he was or what he was doing during the 4 1/2 hour period?

  • #143
Poster stated that fiancee did not return Sylvia's glasses to her family (#105).

Fiance said that she threw the glasses against the dashboard in the car-but never produced them? I don't think I understand...

  • #144
I do wonder what kind of investigating was done
If LE believed this to be a runaway, based on everything they were told, would they look beyond that?

I would think there is a difference in the way LE investigate Missing Person versus Runaway, especially when the person is an adult. Missing would garner more attention

Breaker Breaker I of III

X. Sylvia Lwowski and her bf did not live together.

XI. Details remain unclear re glasses, but there is nothing foggy, hazy, or misty about the following statements:
XII. BF picked up Sylvia Lwowski at 5>30 p.m. (at her home) - the two were going to see a film - start time between 6.15 - 7 p.m.

XIII. Sylvia Lwowski and her bf were dating each other for about eighteen to twenty-four months prior to the event. (The following is an opinion: Not really a long time. Heck, I dated my last girlfriend for 4.5 years, and it all seems like nothing... we broke up in the end - sorry if flirting with OT).

XIV. BF returned to Sylvia's parents house (her house) at 10:30 p.m [....::::: WINDOW...:::::...] [:::::::.....WINDOW.....:::::::] [::::ESTABLISHED....::::::...]

Xv. Upon hearing this - Sylvia Lwowski's mom jumped in her car - and cruised up to the mall. She was driving arounf and around , and around that Mall area/section in order to possibly find Sylvia. {NOTE: Isn't this odd - why isn't the bf doing this - WHY ISNT THE bf DOING THIS? WHY ISNT THE THE BF HELPING?! Wait - I'm sorry - ARE HIS FEELINGS HURT?!? Aww, poor thing... Grrrr.}

5 hours is a pretty good window for him...or he was looking for her himself for 4 hours or so? Just playing devil's advocate! I know Sylvia and her father weren't speaking, but why did the father not go out looking for her? Mine would have (and he is a drinker like Sylvia's father)

  • #146
He says she ran away at 6
He says they had an argument
He says that it was a particular area she got out of the car

Five hours between time she was picked up and mom was informed

There is only one witness to all of this

Surely LE looked into this?

First thing I asked myself, also: 10:30 PM, a Saturday night---beautiful daughter missing (no vehicle; possibly no cash to call home)...and Mom (without Father) is out searching for her in family's car alone?

Had wondered early on whether or not Sylvia's Father was with her Mother when the Police Report was filed the following day.

Also, a tad bothered now by Police Report: Publicity wanted: No

Perhaps, you answered why ^...could be, but not sure.

Respectfully bolded by me (BBM):

Additionally, this was Staten Island in 1975, not a busy neighborhood in Brooklyn, or Manhattan.

She certainly would be unable to hail a cab, or even locate a phone booth easily to call a friend or family.

Arguments about Dad "performing" in front of friends a few days prior and Father-Daughter not speaking, IF true, fly out the window when your beautiful 22 yo daughter could be missing on Staten Island in 1975...MOO.

Explanation needed...

Its so important to get the word out

Yes, two parents...Mother is the parent in vehicle searching (Dad remains home...waiting), and...

Was Father at the precinct with Mom the following day?

Or was Mother alone again? If so, why?

If alone, perhaps that is why Mother and the disappearance was not taken seriously the following day by LE (1975).

A quiet couple
no public blow ups

18 to 24 months together
Engaged

Sounds like they were serious about a future together

I don't know the answer..

But wouldn't both parents want to be involved?
At this point it must have felt very serious and real to them!!

very good questions

Question

- Was Father at precinct w/spouse to report his daughter missing?

On the flip side, the fiancee can be viewed as having been caring enough to appear at the home at 10:30 PM.

For all I know, he could have been at her parents' home wanting or expecting to speak with Sylvia, and had assumed she had returned.

No apples please...just thinking aloud.

Window

4.5 hours - any way to find out if it was raining? Travel would be stifled due to slow moving traffic. But if we look at 4.5 hours - one could drive from staten island out to long island - say - to the area (as an example) where the long island strangler used to dump his bodies - near gilgo beach - AND back to staten island - in 2 hours. This represents a BIG -BIG window. Big-Big.

What are you guys thinking - how long to the poconos / mt areas in PA and back?

BREAKER BREAKER - II 0f III
XvI: BF served up three different tales to specifically describe what happened fight night (typical).

I Present them to you npow as true and accurate representations ( quotes added to give some type of realism - but these are true):

{{{.......:::::::::THREE DIFFERENT STORIES :::::::::::::::::...........}}}}
A. To Sylvia Lwowski's Mom and Dad: "Uhmmm, oh, well, we wuz at a red light, and uh, she threw the glasses on the dashboard. And she ran off."

B. To the police: "Well, ya see, what happened was, uh, (cough), uh there was a traffic jam... yeah, and uh, we were stuck in the traffic jam, and uh, well.. she then threw her glasses at dashboard... and she opened the door... and she ran away. Ya know, a runa way, people do it all the time - you read the papers. Yeah, a traffic jam, that was it."

C. To a private investigator hired to find the answers and do the work unperformed by police (so it appears): " Oh, well, we wuz drivin ya see, and uh, we got into an argument... so then I rolled up to a stop sign. Then, it was then (cough), at that point (couigh) when she took her glasses off, and slammed them against my dashboard. Then she, uh, she opened the car door, yeah, yeah, she opened the door, and then... uhm... then she ran off, ya know, like a runaway... you read the papers,,, happens everyday."

The sad thing is back then, the runaway tale was being pitched and sold by many. We know now, after having the luxury of time, and case results, that the runaway excuse is utter BS... and that's not BS for Balogne saNDWICH. Please do not be offended by my uses of terms in this dialogue- specific only to the subject.

The private investigator was hired by her parents?

Early movie for a Saturday night.

Fiancee picks her up at home, and he returns in person to the family home at 10:30 PM.

Daughter is 22 years old AND engaged.

Police Report states Nativity: Germany.

Rather than Blank, USA.

Poster states father was a life-long military man.

Question:

How strict was Sylvia's Father with her?

I think any and all inquiry into the father is to fall into the trap. Please do not fall into the trap. Fathers dont kil their daughters. Looking at this case - to go there would be ... unthinkable. Common Sense.
Father , obvi, asleep at that hour. Timed perfectly by BF. My ex girlfriend's dad was a big JOHN Daniels drinker - he would be out cold by 7pm every night. Like clockwork - certainly not up and about - alert and sober enmough to go driving around the neighborhood. Look at the two alternatives - it's madness to consider the father - your gonna drive me to drin k !!!!! Grrrr..... ( I know good intentions - and brainstorming, but its madness to go there, madness)

I try to avoid all and any traps.

Was the Father at the precinct with Sylvia's Mother the next day, or not...IF you have knowledge.

I don't know that it is more than 2 hours each way to the poconos from S.I.-but it probably does take that long.
