I have no rememberance of anyone. She would have been friends with other band members. I just never knew anyony of them. I'm sure I met them at the party but one night since 1975? No memory at all.

MMQC - bbm: Sounds like you are referring to the summer pool party in late August. I am gathering mostly Wagner grads? Was it a mix of men and women? Do you remember how many? Big party?

This is somewhat off topic and not a nice thought, but it's something that really bothers me in relation to this case.

When I grew up on Staten Island, there was so much more open space. My street, for example, was 2 blocks long, with big empty lots at each end. (It is now a busy street that intersects two major streets, from what I've heard)

I can remember probably somewhere around 1978, we (my family) were coming home from somewhere and my dad took us on a detour. He took us to this big old abandoned farm somewhere on the island (no idea where) that was owned by his great uncle. I guess the uncle passed away and had no children so the farm just sat there for I'm not sure how long, but it looked abandoned and dilapidated. I really wanted to get out of the car and go look at the house and walk around but it was getting dark and my parents wouldn't let me.

It just seems that there were so many places back then where someone could be buried.

I went back to Staten Island briefly in 1990 for my dad's funeral, and barely recognized my old neighborhood. The empty lots were now houses, condos, sidewalks and paved roads.

I just really hate to think that missing persons could be under all the construction growth that happened on Staten Island. :( I really wish Sylvia's case had been investigated more thoroughly back then.

Me too. Me too!

Was Sylvia a member of a church or synagogue? Any pastors or rabbis she may have confided in?

Not a church going family. Mine was, so I was dragged to church every Sunday.

Fair size. It was a mix of men and women. At the height of the party maybe, I'm guessing 10-15. All I remember of the night was the incident with the father.

--Any friends or contacts at the Marinas?

No I did not go out that evening. Can't remember why. Group dates did not happen. We might have all gone to the beach or to a concert or something like that. Never really double dated. My BF/F did not like SL's BF/F.

How did Sylvia describe to you how she met her BF/F? Were you with Sylvia when they first were introduced to each other or met?

Since you and Sylvia did not group nor double date with respective BFs/Fs, did you ever hang out with Sylvia and her BF/F without your partner?

How then was he familiar with your parents' residence and comfortable going to your home that evening?

Can you describe Sylvia's BF/F's position/stance or behavior to the manner in which Sylvia reacted towards her Father (argument ensued, kicked Father) in front of others?

Also, in the days following that incident, did he take one side over the other?

Thanks, MMQC. I wasn't thinking so much about double dates, or group dates, but SI being small enough in those days to run into each other in public on dates, or to meet up at say the end of dates in the same place -- not together, but like a public hangout.

Re the part BBM, why did your BF/F not like SL's BF/F? Did he know SL's BF/F from something outside SL's relationship with him? Mutual acquaintances?Or did he meet SL's BF/F through your friendship with SL? Did you initially double date with bad results? Did the two BF/Fs ever have words? Just trying to get a better fix on how others saw and reacted to SL's BF/F. We don't really know much about him -- except that he went to NYU, was a private music teacher, and played drums in your acquaintance's brother's band.

Was Sylvia fluent (speak, read, write) or semi-fluent in any foreign language (s)?

To bad we can't get a list of the members of the band she was in so we can get more information on her campus life.

Are we talking Marching Band, Jazz Band, Chamber Orchestra ... or R&R band with friends? I thought the former. I could not find a yearbook for 1975, but if we could, each band would probably be pictured with caption listing band members. And actually, this might be the case for other years of attendance as well -- not just the graduation year.

bbm: --Did Sylvia live at home and attend Wagner or did she board there? For all or some of her 4 years?

It was mentioned she commuted to Wagner with her father sometimes...

I am guessing Sylvia was an accomplished classical musician.

In the engagement announcement it mentions Sylvia was a member of Alpha Tau Mu musical sorority. It is a music honors sorority (see Wagner link where it is mentioned in PP class '78).

She was also a member of the tau beta sigma national band society.

I believe she may have played the piccolo

I'm sure in enough time for her to get ready for Date. Say 4-ish?

When you and Sylvia spent that day together, had she mentioned that seeing a movie was her planned destination that evening?

Did Sylvia mention any other activity or destination other than, or in addition to, the movie theater for that evening?

Hey Dushi - when you make a statement like this, it is good to either link it or explain why you think she played this particular instrument.

Similar to the post above that where the poster speculates that Sylvia was a classical musician and gives the warner link.

Thanks,

Salem

ETA: it doesn't have to be a direct link, just something that supports your theory, because your theory is very specific.

Thank you salem

I will be very specific after i get permission from the person who told me that

For now, let me me say, it is my opinion only that Sylvia played the piccolo

I will try to get it into the thread as fact rather than hearsay
