I heard back, folks. That is the BF/F's family standing with the BF/F. MMQC was not sure of the event. She said, "no clue? Maybe engagement party?" FWIW, based on the age of the later children, I think he would look older in wedding photos, but JMO.

I think of Sylvia often, I not only feel bad for the life she could have had, but also for the life she might have had before she went missing. Anger? Turmoil?...I feel there was the possibilities for these emotions prior to the week before she went missing, maybe even starting with her graduation.

I have to say, I am anxiously awaiting DeerHunter's next move. He doesn't have many options, since it's been so long since Sylvia's been missing, but I'm glad he went through his parents' papers.

I don't know about that but I'm glad you are on this thread with all of us, I just found it kind of amusing.

Yes, it is amusing! What is that link, exactly? I'd seen it before, recently and then just forgot about it, not knowing what it was.

I don't know, every couple of days I type in Sylvia's name into Google to see if anything is new.

Wagner College graduation 2014

http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/2014/05/wagner_college_graduation_2014.html

Scrolling through the pictures in the SILive article reminds me of that age when life is so full of new beginnings. -712 graduates in the class of 2014.

It is a stark contrast to the unbearable sadness and loss of Sylvia – so full of promise when she graduated. –Wonder how many were in her Wagner College Class of 1975. Next year will be her 40th reunion.

(Lol)Does this mean I have the biggest mouth?

Wha-a-a-at?! LOL. Sorry, mother's been in the hospital again. Is WS behind this or something/someone else?

LOL, JMoose :)

Well, of course we're the winners, we're practically the only ones on the thread! Skeet, don't feel neglected! I think it's a dubious distinction at best!

I did see it-it was very interesting how the killer flew below the radar like he did (and what a creep!)

I wondered if your mom was having problems, as you weren't around. For a couple of weeks-so sorry to hear it.

Agree re the cold case. Super creepy. I think the "child" witness remembering the face after all those years was pretty amazing too. When your own family thinks you did it ... cheez.

Thanks re my mom ... that's just not going anywhere good, but it's not as bad as last time.

I think you get six hours to edit? Then you can't get at it anymore? It's happened to me too.

Why not rule SL out as this UIP?

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/1621

Partial skeletal parts; skull?...

White, Female; Min Age: 17 yo
NamUs: "Age cannot be determined"

Found Sept 2001 in East Orange, NJ at demolition site (227 Park Ave): that's about 35-45 minutes driving time from SI, NY.

Probable Year of Death: from 0 to 2001.

Noticed another poster also brought this UIP up on one of SL's threads.

I am under the impression that Sylvia was already submitted as a possibility for this UID.

Convo with Kim @ Namus -

Rosemadderlake to Kim, today 04.30.14
Hi Kim:

Following up on this UID quoted below (NIC# U200003442; Case Number 01-27642) brought to our attention at Websleuths last July. Has there been a DNA determination or is it still awaiting processing?

--Not sure how this works but is there a list of "rule outs" for Sylvia? I see some MPs and UIDs have lists and others do not.

--Also, have the Hart Island UIDs and unclaimed been a consideration for Sylvia? If we see a possible UID on their database, do we submit that to you?

I appreciate your help.

From Kim on 4/30, "I have emailed NJSP to see if we can make a comparison, I'll let you know".
TBM: Quoting myself above - re Essex UID (East Orange, NJ). -I have not heard anything back since initial convo on April 30th..

ETA: On September 11, 2001, a skull was found at a demolition site at 227 Park Avenue, East Orange, Essex County, New Jersey. Unknown date/year of death. Estimated year of birth would be off ('61-'81 compared to 1953); but age at death is 17-22. This location is about 35 minutes from Staten Island.
