This is true. The article (Deadly combination of crash site and limo company which has had four vehicles taken out of service | Daily Mail Online) where the people at the hotel say they have never heard of Sahed Hussain but the owners go by Malik, This attached article below shows Sahed goes by Malik Informant for FBI is freed

TY! Just found more info here:

Hussain’s address is the Crest Inn Suites and Cottages, a string of 23, one-story attached units that manager Barney Cornett, 60, described as “traditional housing.”

Cornett identified the Crest Inn’s owner as a man he knows only as “Mr. Malik,” who lives in Dubai.

Hussain, 62, is also known as “Malik,” according to local news reports.

Cornett said Hussain’s son — who he knows as “Shawn” — formerly lived at the Crest Inn but recently moved to Albany, and now “just comes here to collect the rent and leaves.”

Major lawsuits on the way, to be sure!

If the Hussain family have passports those need to be confiscated as a matter of urgency to stop them fleeing the country.

Has anyone posted the name/information about the brewery that was the group's destination? I'm wondering if the brewery recommends limousine services to patrons? I've been reading about local (metro Detroit) brewery "tours". Looks like breweries recommend transportation companies to patrons or offer their own transportation services.

Karina said she’d been texting her sister up until the crash, the country’s deadliest transportation accident in nearly a decade.

“I got a text from my sister at 12:55 [p.m.] on Saturday that said, ‘We’re going to the Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown for a birthday party,” Karina said. “I texted her back at a little after 2, but the message went unanswered because it was a few minutes after the wreck happened.”

Brewery Ommegang— Everything for a Reason

Transportation: Ommegang’s preferred taxi provider is A & D Taxi & Transport

@Gardenista, perhaps you could snip the taxi company’s phone number from your post? I’m just concerned about putting it out there, since it’s a private company unrelated to the wreck?

I am confused --how does folks cooperating with our Federal Bureau of Investigation 15 years ago fit in here??

This sounds more like the classic corruption seen all over (ignoring the laws to make a buck)

Yes, I agree with you, @CARIIS. This seems to me like slipshod and grossly negligent business management. Criminally negligent, imo.

The pictures you're referring to (attached) actually show the drag marks the wrecked limo left on the ground and pavement after it was pulled from the ravine by the tow truck.

Possibly it was dragged out the same way it went in? Given the terrain, the trees and the length of the limo, it seems the likeliest solution to getting it out.

How far away they were from there destination
