I did not watch the video.
Is she thrown into the van or is she placed?

The video is just image stills. The reporter says he "put" her inside. We don't actually see this, just an image of the vehicle.

The way he holds his arms out feels like an "I'm not going to hurt you" stance.
WHY did he have to drag her at all? Who does that, if the person could have walked on her own (conducted by him)?

I think the legwarmer theory makes a lot of sense looking at this pic since you can see the separation with the fabric and her skin. It also appears to me that they're striped black, gray and white:
Ha, good thought!! Fits clear as day now that you said it. Gray tights too?

The white pants beneath a blue skirt look to me to be the kind of outfit that a young, fashion oriented woman who specifically dresses modestly (often for religious purposes) might wear. Think joggers under a skirt + the kind of chunky white sneakers that are in (gen z) fashion at present + striped socks?

I’ve lived in two different cities with (different) large religious communities in which women dress modestly - and I totally clocked that outfit as ‘modest wear’.

I might be WILDLY off, but that was my first reaction. Possibly this helps identify her?

I also find it extremely odd that her face is blurred, and without comment. I could imagine burring due to injury but often newsmedia will say that “we are blurring this image due to its graphic nature”. I’d imagine that there are stills from pre-encounter that would show her face, and presumably without injury if it was pre-encounter. I’d suspect there is some other reason for blurring, but I can’t really think of many…

Truly odd - and I hope she’s located safely!

Possibly her face is blurred as she is assumed to be a minor?

I'm not super familiar with that site. Is that considered mainstream media?
On Google Streetview you can see the cameras say “NYPD”

IMO, maybe sharing her identity could be dangerous? What if she's in witness protection or undercover? A wild theory of mine!

Some young women of some cultures are not allowed to go out at night without a chaperone. Perhaps this woman with long dark hair was picked up by a family member who did not approve of her activities or outfit? That would explain why she did not fight back. It also explains the gesture where his arms are outstretched as he approached her.

If there was a weapon, it suggests a stranger abduction. Very rare for stranger abduction to be plucked off an intersection and tossed into a van. It happens on dusty roads, and it did happen to Brittanee Drexel, but not the usual abduction.

If there was no weapon, then it suggests (for me) a familial/ domestic abduction.

My first impression was she had some kind of medical braces on her legs.

My guess is the joggers/leg warmers were put on to keep her legs warm (it was in the 50's that night, so not cold but walking around in a short skirt with bare legs would not be the most comfortable) after a night out.

I can't make a lot of sense about her outfit - and maybe it would make more sense if her top half wasn't blurred out - but my first thought upon seeing the pictures was that she could be someone with mental health or developmental delays of some sort, that had eloped from her home setting, with a relative? Caregiver? Out searching for, and finding, her in the street.

She doesn't appear to be struggling against being carried the way she is in the picture, but the report seems pretty certain it's a kidnapping...really odd all around.

My first thought as well.

Are they blurring a head/hair covering of some sort as well?

You had me excited for a moment, I thought perhaps LE released the video?
Sorry Knox. It's just a Fox update.
