OCSO Abandons Hope To Find Caylee Alive

  • #41
It would seem logical that they would believe this.
Didn't Cindy say she will not believe that Caylee is dead until there is confirmation from LE. Well, this is it.
I also note the last paragraph of this article...
"Investigators said they are also concerned that if they continue to follow up on live sightings, it could help Casey Anthony's defense establish reasonable doubt about whether Caylee is deceased."

And unfortunately I think this is the main reason for the A's continued insistence that Caylee is alive. To cast doubt.

I think LE is sending mixed messages to the family here. They are NOT being firm..... they are actually leaving the door wide open for Cindy to cling onto her hopes.

So why didn't they JUST say they have NO HOPE that Caylee is still alive? END OF MESSAGE.

Why mention that you are concerned that IF you follow up on leads, you are afraid the defense will use it to sway the jury.

What do you think the jury will think when the defense says... we passed along good tips but LE refused to do anything?

Things like this always make me wonder if LE is really pushing buttons to see what kind of reaction/response they might get? It doesn't make sense otherwise to me.

The struggle between the head & the heart must be aweful.

I do believe Caylee is dead at the hands of Casey. I believe Casey put her in the dumpster, Caylee being just another thing that needed to be hauled out to the trash bin so she could start her new life.

I really think in their heads, they all KNOW Caylee is dead & they KNOW Casey is responsible. I think the heart is a whole different matter. No matter how much my head told me she was dead, in my heart, I would hold out all hope. I think that's just human.

The Anthony's know how the dynamics were right before the time Casey & Caylee went missing. They know what they smelled in the car, they know what their first fears were. THEY KNOW. They don't want to admit it b/c to do so means their own child is a monster. I think they will do whatever it takes to protect Casey, even when that means they are not doing what's right for Caylee. Of all people, I think THEY have forgotten this is only about Caylee. Cindy's actions in the very beginning made it all about Casey. Cindy has been a master at taking the focus OFF Caylee & putting it ALL on Casey.

If a body is found or evidence THEY feel is 100%, they may comes to terms with Caylee's death. I do not think they will EVER comes to terms that Casey killed her. Nothing & I mean nothing............ not a confession nor even a video of her doing it, would convince them of her guilt. CIndy will defend or do whatever it is she needs to do even after Casey gets the needle. Cindy will go to her grave never admitting PUBLICALLY Casey killed Caylee.

Denial is often used to protect us for awhile from facing a terrible truth. In Cindy's case, I think denial has nothing to do with that, I think it has everything to do with protecting the perfect image she wants the world to believe is her life. Cindy will never admit to ALL of the family failing Caylee in her short life but also in her death.

Some day, in God's time, be it by accident or by dedicated searchers, Caylee will be found. And when she is, we will all still be here for her, to remember her the way she should be.

For now, I can only hope Casey has very very vivid dreams of that pretty little girls smiles, her innonence & her reaching her little arms up to say " I love you mommy." I hope Casey lives out the rest of her life in a living hell.

Bold by me:

You would think this family would want to start the grieving process before the trial for the sake of their mind, body, and soul. It is possible Caylee's remains could be found by then if some of them haven't already been found. I just can't see someones psyche being able to stand up to grieving for a granddaughter and daughter all at the same time.

I am glad that an official statement was made by OCSD regarding this. However, I am of the opinion that it still is not enough proof for the A's.

I feel it would have been better if they had done this before. It has left the Anthonys to spread their sick crap about the searches.

If you think about it, it is really SICK this is even happening. When the sheriff's department tells you a child is dead, it takes a really deranged person to keep looking for that child.

  • #44
I hope you're right, but....I haven't seen any reports of searches being done by LE in a very long time now. They also didn't seem too supportive of LP's search (for whatever reason). Part of LE's statement was that Caylee is dead, and they are "moving on". I just wish they could have mentioned something about what efforts they're currently making to find her remains.

I don't know if this is true, but I was told by someone who lives in Orlando that they saw LE dive team in the Ovieda area yesterday.

I believe they tried doing this before while being compassionate towards the A's but they just didn't get it. LE tried being respectable towards their feelings but now LE has to spell it out to them and I'm afraid before this is over they will slow down and spell it out again.

Well said, LeLe

If Cindy doesn't start facing reality BEFORE the trial starts it is VERY possible that she'll wind up being the prosecution's star witness.

I really think she is THAT close to completely going over the edge and who knows what she could do or say on the witness stand trying to defend Casey.

What part of LE stating that "Caylee is dead" and we are not going to continue looking for her alive is a mixed message?!

A sheriff's spokesman said Caylee is dead and they're moving on.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Carlos Padilla said they are confident that FBI lab tests on evidence found in Casey Anthony's car prove Caylee is dead. He said that is backed up by the grand jury's murder indictment of Casey Anthony.

Interesting 'rumor.' :clap::clap:

I wonder if it's about Caylee or somebody else?

I agree with all of your post.

I bolded the part about how Casey should be remembering Caylee because Cindy has lost both of her little girls.

Whatever Cindy knows in her heart Casey might have done, Cindy remembers when Casey was an innocent pretty little girl. She remembers Casey saying "Mommy, I love you." Cindy can't save Caylee. Casey is being threatened.

I think that on one level Cindy probably hates Casey. But, I think sometimes parental instinct takes over.

I think the guilt of not being able to prevent what happened would be overwhelming.

IMO

If LE continues to follow up on live Caylee tips there's no doubt they will undermine the jury's confidence in the FBI's results that prove Caylee is deceased. I think this was an important announcement for LE to make--they are no longer going to fuel the denial.

This part:

From the article:

Investigators said they are also concerned that if they continue to follow up on live sightings, it could help Casey Anthony's defense establish reasonable doubt about whether Caylee is deceased.

Thanks for sharing that. I truly do hope they haven't completely given up on looking for Caylee's remains, and I hope that's as important to them as getting Casey convicted of Murder One is.

Which is exactly what I am counting on!! I am counting on them slapping on the cuffs at the end of the trial and taking her to jail for any number of things, but including Perjury and Obstruction Of Justice.:clap::clap:

Why?! It is certainly a true statement!!! Everyone knows that every time they go out to what they KNOW to be a false sighting it does help the defense. We have already heard the defense say it!!

Since it would be skeletal, she'd deny that too, and you know, forensics & DNA are hocus pocus, not REAL science.:furious:

Yup!!! She is putting the genie back into the bottle and will accept nothing less than a live Caylee, happy and healthy. We'd all like that but we'd also like to find Gold in the kitty litter.

Does anyone know if this trial will be televised? Or it is out of the question?

I think Judge Strickland will allow it. I believe he wants the world to see it so that they know without any doubt first hand how evil this woman is and maybe it will prevent it from happening again in another family.
