Holy Mother of Bull Hockey!

They need to get on with this.

Let her sit and wait, & wait & wait. KC isn't so special, heck Billy Bob's sick estranged daughter is incarcerated in the same jail. These to women have vastly different looks, going to prove that looks are decieveing when it comes to murder. Hopefully the jury will not let the perps appearance effect their judgement. All those snacks will give her cush'in for the push'in come time for that lethal injection.

Did anyone watch the video of the meeting on WFTV? Baez just had to get a jab in at Kathi Belich. :poke: He thinks he's funny, but he just makes me sick. :puke:
Don't think the prosecutors found him funny either. :applause:

I feel like the "news" concerning this case has dwindled over the past few months and in this respect the delay might be positive. I would like to see Casey go to trial in Orlando, if the last few months are any measure, there may be less publicity by the time trial does come around and that would make a change of venue less likely.

I remember you posting that defense would delay, delay. Why is this slow process allowed?n I was hopeing JS would take the reins and require defense to pull thier case together. Why wouldn't a judge tell a new defense lawyer that it was her choic to join a defense team that is already established, and it is her responsibility to catch up regardless of other obligations outside of the case. This polite stuff is frustrating. I guess this could benefit prosecution in some way? I am sadden by such along delay.

Because this is a death penalty case there is going to be a great deal of latitude given to the defense. Because a life is at stake they will err on the side of caution every single time, and this is but the first of the delays that we are likely to see on this one. We will be lucky to see this go to trial at all in 2010.

I know we are all anxious for this to get started, but the Judge has to err on the side of caution. Better to let the defense have ample time to prepare rather than have an appealate issue later.

Although I want the trial ASAP, I don't want that piece o' crap kc to walk free for any reason. Let her keep rotting in prison in the meantime.

Sorta OT, but when I was KCs age I was on house arrest for 40 days, and after week 1 I was already losing my marbles. I know she's not taking it too well being pent up, sociopath or not. Remember how mad and crybaby she was in the jailhouse videos? Every five minutes it was, "I just want to be home"... "but I wanna be there when Caylee finally comes back.." then she had that huge fit about her parents having an opportunity to bond her out, but they didn't.
Fear not friends, she is not having a good time in there ... I feel very confident that she's extremely miserable. Go ahead and delay, she aint never getting out. *Laughs evilly while rubbing hands together*

Good points! And she seems to me like the kind of person who hates being alone. Before jail she was always with friends or on the phone. Now she is in a cell by herself and can not be with any other inmates. Her only contact with people are with the jail employees. Her only personal visitors are her lawyers. I'm laughing with you....muah ha ha!

Once AL came on board, it seemed to take her about 5 seconds to decide that kc was innocent. Why not just go to trial and tell the jury what convinced her so quickly? Should take about 10 seconds since she is twice as smart as us. No need for a delay.

So much for all of the posturing from the defense under Baez's watch that states his client is looking for her day in court yada, yada, yada yawn.

This is going to be the WORST for Baez-much much worse than for Casey who is sitting in the pokey. AL is going to actively pursue letting the media/circus like atmosphere die down...no more press conferences and being baited by reporters....B is going to have sit and twiddle his thumbs or hold his clients hand...

15 minutes are almost over Jose...JMO.

JMO: I was thinking on the 4th of how miserable she must be feeling. No Parties, no friends, no family. Ahhh how this makes my heart feel so good that she is not having her "BEAUTIFUL LIFE". She made that bed and by golly she can lay in it for the rest of her selfish life.
My heart is also so sad for Caylee. She will never have a chance at a beautiful life because her monster mom took her life.

ITA. Also no visits with GA, CA or LA for a long time, if JB keeps enforcing that!

I just posted over in the check charge thread. Same response, different thread.

Naw, I am not upset. KC can wait in jail while I sit waiting in front of my 52" HDTV 1080 Sharp tv with stereo surround sound drinking my coffee, wine what have you and eating healthy foods.

I think the more time that goes by between the offense and the trial, the better it is for the defendent. Ms. Lyon is a relative newcomer to the defense team and undertook the task with full knowledge of the trial date. This delay should not have been allowed.

My thoughts exactly. She's obviously only in this for the fortune and glory and I cannot express my disgust over this being allowed. Won't she have some great, self-aggrandizing stories for her little future lawyers. Don't understand how people like that sleep at night. I really expected much much more from Strickland he's been right on so much so far.

The legal system is so much into itself it's ridiculous. Teaching schedule - huh? Normal people, citizens, are lucky to get a continuance on a traffic ticket but the most awful criminals seem to be catered to if they have a flashy defense attorney. Will we ever take back the legal system from this nonsense??

I agree with you on all points except your last statement. Although I agree that Caylee was taken from this earth much too soon, I take comfort in knowing that she is having a beautiful life with the Lord Jesus Christ. Thinking of the all the great wonders she is experiencing.. things that our earthly minds cannot comprehend... That makes my heart feel good.

She was not in good hands while on earth, but now she is in the Best Hands she could ever be in.

Don't be concerned about a rescheduled trial date, this sort of delay is more the rule than not. It is the correct decision by the judge. He can't force KC to go to trial when one of her lawyers has a schedule conflict that will not allow her to adequately prepare for trial by October. Had the judge not granted the extension, JB and Co. would simply go upstairs to the Court of Appeal with a Writ and the COA would have ruled in his favor.

Justice delayed again...it's justice denied. I'm starting to despise our legal system.

IMO, a delay means nothing more than the perp gets additional guaranteed time to sit behind bars and think about what she has done.

Oh, JWG - if it were only so! Your heart is much more generous than mine. I am imagining her planning her next commissary list - getting that balance\ of sugar and salt snacks with cocoa butter, perhaps writing famous male inmates in other prisons (or Diane Downs for "tips" on creating fake conspiracy theories for appeals) and wondering if the eyeshadow she wore at the last motion hearing was glam enough for her "fans".

Somehow, her narcissism (which may turn out to be terminal) makes me think that she is simply "filming" herself every day as the star of her very own reality show - the poor little "10" that was arrested on a whim and is waiting for her white knight to come and carry her away (although her best chance at this point is an aging Wonder Woman), as she whiles away the hours eating convenient-store-grade bon-bons, reading the latest Stephen King novel orperhaps "journaling" (I just hate that as a verb) as she thinks of potential book deals. (Although she cannot personally profit from any money she makes after she is convicted, I'll bet there is a special little "foundation" she could support with the proceeds that would at least make sure it donated plenty to her commissary account...).

Oh goodness, I'm feeling a tad sarcastic, aren't I? I just simply cannot imagine the frustration that actual Florida residents must be going through thinking about how much yet another delay in this horrific little charade will end up costing them, not to mention how insanely disrespectful this entire debacle is to the memory of a darling and innocent child who paid for the massive dysfunctional actions of this family with her very life.

JB fussing at the male lawyer for the state...anyone catch what was said?

I think KC is the one behind the trial being delayed.

She has a comfortable jail lifestyle right now. That will all change when she's convicted and sent to prison. Even if she is segregated from the general population, she will not have the "kid gloves" treatment she has now.

I think she must be resigned to going to prison and she's trying to delay it as long as humanly possible. Otherwise, if she was innocent, she would be pressuring her defense to get on with the trial so she could get out of jail.

Here is a Kathi Belich interview with analyst Bill Sheaffer -

http://www.wftv.com/video/19983221/index.html

The focus of the interview is on AL and why she asked for delay?, will she be effective with Florida jurors?, and more....
I found it very interesting that BS explains that Central Florida juries may respect her ability but not buy into her tears & theatrics.
