My son has a 410, 22, & 12 guage, which he uses for competition shoots at the hunt club. I don't have a problem with this type of activity, because I know at the club, safety is always first! When not in use, they are locked in the safe. However, my ex bought him a 9mm for Christmas. He's not even old enough to actually 'own' the gun yet. What 14 year old needs a 9mm? Then I'm the mean parent because I would not allow him to have it. . Oops, this isn't the rant thread!!
I do have a couple of thoughts here about the actual case. First, having raised two daughters, I think it's very normal that Skyla & Taylor would decide to take a walk, even though they knew her mom was on the way. (especially since Mom was on the way) It is also very normal to take a purse and carry 'girly' things. I don't think they would have gone for the walk had they been alone at the house. I have always wondered who was at the house when they left?
Maybe I'm really naieve (sp??), but I can't comprehend a common drug/arms dealer shooting two girls, during the day, in an open location just because they might have seen a transaction in progress. It's not like the girls were that big of a threat to them. I think the motive is more personal, but then I could just be naieve about criminals.
