Officials: 'Bath salts' are growing drug problem

this is the first my wife and i have ever heard of this! i had no idea people could even get high off bath salt. we don't use them, yet now i'd be scared to even put them in the tub in water to relax.

i can only imagine some meth seller sold someone these bath salts as meth and they found out "oh i can get high off this" and that's how this whole thing started, its so insane!

It sounds to me like that's just a nickname for this blend of drugs, not like Calgon. But I could be wrong.

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Two drugs that produce a "meth-like" high and are being sold under the guise of "bath salts" would be banned as federally controlled substances under a bill unveiled on Sunday by Senator Charles Schumer.


"These so-called bath salts contain ingredients that are nothing more than legally sanctioned narcotics, and they are being sold cheaply to all comers, with no questions asked, at store counters around the country," said Schumer, a New York Democrat.

The FDa does not regulate any cosmetics, soaps, lotions etc. you'd be amazed at what's in the stuf we put on our hair and faces:
