OH - Active Shooter, Warehouse, Multiple Injured, New Albany, 04 Feb 2025

NEW ALBANY, Ohio (WCMH) — Law enforcement responders are at a large “active” scene near a New Albany warehouse Tuesday night.

According to authorities, the incident happened at or near a KDC/One cosmetics building on the 8800 block of Smith Mill Road North at approximately 10:30 p.m. According to the New Albany Chamber of Commerce website, KDC/One manufactures cosmetics for LBrands stores.


Law enforcement officers said the scene was still very active and there is still a threat at the location.


Victims from the scene are being taken to local hospitals for treatment. There is currently no word on the number of victims or their conditions.

If I heard right, 8825 Smiths Mill Rd KDC 1. L Brands, a huge umbrella company with brands you’d certainly know. I believe that warehouse might have been for makeup

Drones are everywhere and the Licking County SWAT is out along with one CPD helicopter and one State helicopter circling the Easton area.
I hope I’m not conflating unrelated reports but there might have been another incident at a Taco Bell.

I was concerned that “found” might mean the guy committed suicide. Sounds like probably not though.

Same. More clarity: Law enforcement officers said the scene was still very active and there is still a threat at the location. One suspect has been identified and is alive, but officials did not release that person’s name.

Almost certainly not. These events are invariably one shooter, but law enforcement is cautious not to jump the gun and say the situation is over unless they are sure. There's typically confusion in these cases early on, where multiple shooters are reported when there's really just one. I haven't heard anything like that here though, and I do think it's over.

New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones told reporters early Wednesday that a person of interest had been identified and authorities were working to bring the person into custody, adding that it wasn't clear whether the person was an employee. He said there was no reason to think there was an ongoing threat to anyone in the vicinity.

I'm looking at this story, it says it was updated at 3:04am. So the "person of interest" is NOT in custody!?!
