Saw the story about the ME's Citizen's Academy on local news today. Should be very interesting!

My biggest question about the Anthony Sowell serial killings wouldn't be about the crime scene, but how local LE went so long without realizing there was a serial killer in their midst. The missing women, the pervasive, ongoing odor in the neighborhood, etc. The ME did a very good job on that case, as usual.

JMO, Cuyahoga County ME does a great job for Cuy Co and also for many surrounding counties who don't have the budget for an ME. The ME is sometimes put in an awkward position when their AR report is disputed by local prosecutors who prefer a suspicious death be ruled, for example a suicide vs homicide.
I’ll have to show your comment to my friend that works there, I bet he would have a ton of insight. I know he struggles with that dynamic a lot. Everyone I’ve met at the ME’s office through the academy and subsequent events related to it is incredible. Such an amazing, compassionate, intelligent, and dedicated group of people. Plllllease apply for the academy, it was such a wonderful experience not only from a true crime perspective but from a public health perspective.

They have a great reputation. The previous ME, Dr. Elizabeth Balraj was very good, too. So much integrity and professionalism.
