Missing Norwalk woman hasn’t been seen in more than 2 weeks

Norwalk police need helping finding Arleen Brush, 50, of Norwalk.

She has not been seen since February.

Her daughter called police for a welfare check on her mother on March 2.

According to police, officers went to her home on Concord Court to check on her that day, but no one answered the door.

The police worked with the property manager to get inside Brush’s apartment the following day.

No one was home.

According to police, officers did not notice anything out of place in the apartment.

The last time neighbors can recall seeing Brush is February 28.

Brush does not have a cell phone or a vehicle.

Norwalk Police Chief Mike Conney said “these are very odd circumstances” and asked anyone with information to call them at 419-663-6780.

"........Brush said she has “absolutely no idea” where her mother could be and noted the disappearance is “completely out of character.” "We’ve had some family feuds in the past,” she said. “I personally haven’t spoken to or seen her since September, so who’s she’s been in contact with is a very small amount of people. But no, there’s no indication she went on a trip. We’ve been in her house a few times now and there’s food in the fridge that’s outdated now and it’s very clear she’s not been there. It almost looks like she went out to get mail or take a walk to get some fresh air one day and just didn’t come back.”

Brush said she’s never known her mother to go off unexpectedly. “She’s a homebody,” she said. “Even getting her to get out to get groceries, just to get up and go is hard. This is very unusual. We’re real concerned about her. I’m not sure what mental state she’s in. We just need her home and need to know she’s OK.” ........ "

Huron County Coroner Dr. Jeffrey Harwood confirmed “the findings of her body seem consistent with the Miss Arlene Brush that was missing.”

The coroner said specifics leading to Brush’s death would be revealed after the Lucas County Coroner’s Office finished its autopsy and report.

However, Harwood said “it appears it was a natural cause of death.”

"The body of a woman found Sunday in Norwalk has been identified by her family.

It was Arleen Brush, the Norwalk woman who had been missing since late February. Brush’s niece, Heather Thompson, shared the news and thanked the community for their support and assistance in finding her missing aunt."

........“I’m not sure what her intentions were, but it seems, I think, that she intended to leave the home. She had taken a small amount of clothing and some snacks and a couple small bags of personal belongings with her.”........
