His pic sort of reminds me of Chris Coleman, at least this monster didn't kill his kids too. I'm not in any way diminishing the horrific tragedy of Ashley's death, when I say that. These men who appear Godly on surface, particularly make me angry.

There is another Ashley (Stewart) who was killed by her ex-husband recently. Her case has received very little attention
She has six kids who no longer have a Mama.

Authorities responded to the west suburban home after Stewart's husband called police to report he saw her being chased into their garage on their home surveillance camera by a man he believed was her ex-husband.

"The investigation determined that Dodd, who was the victim’s ex-husband, followed her as she entered her residence and attacked and killed her with a knife," police said in a release.

A manhunt involving drones and a canine teams ensued after a witness reported seeing man fleeing the area. Dodd was quickly located and taken into custody...

But I guess they must be thinking they'll get away with it even with it planned so poorly like in this case. Every single place I read about this online - nearly all the comments were looking at the husband because his tale was just too unbelievable ...even to my grandma ....who believes EVERYBODY!

Two young children now without parents. From the obituary, it sounds like Ashley has a large extended family that will hopefully be able to give them the care, love and support they will need as they deal with this trauma now and in the years ahead. Prayers for the little girls and Ashley's family and other loved ones.

Facebook is very lively this evening. I’m only glad they caught him right away and it didn’t take a year. I’m so sorry Ashley’s life was cut short and I hope her darling girls are taken care of. I feel like the only motive would’ve been life insurance, we shall see. Can’t imagine a guy with his demeanor even knowing how to use a gun. He had to have purchased it or gotten it specifically to murder her. IMO.

Gonna guess he was having an affair, well at least that's typical of these uber-religious husband murderers.

Absolutely crazy how irrational some people can be. No matter what the reason, there's zero chance you're getting away with that. No matter what was going through his mind, how would it ever be reasonable to throw everything away to rot in prison for the rest of your life? It's a good thing most of these murderers are really dumb and make it easy on investigators. RIP Ashley and I feel so, so sorry for their 2 young daughters.

IMHO his reason was that he couldn't divorce her and be with his affair partner because that would make him look bad / church wouldn't accept it / Bible says it's wrong. Seems to be par for the course in a lot of these cases - these men think divorce is world-ending for them, but murder is okay (as long as they don't get caught!).

uggh. Just catching up with teh newest development. So it was the husband. And he murdered his daughters mother while they were right there, in the home. I don't know what the probable cause is for the charges but look forward to learning what they have in the way of evidence.
