So could she be sent back? What would happen then? Would she be jailed back home? Have they ever deported anyone before facing murder charges? Sorry I know nothing about this.

I don't believe she would be deported before serving her sentence. She would presumably serve first, then she could be deported.

I wonder now with all the closed days at the restaurant if the dad was scared to leave mom home alone with the kids. Just speculation on my part. Moo and all that jazz.

Really good thought. I wouldn't be surprised if you are right.

Hearing fake 911 calls makes me feel so sick. I've had to call 911 when my father died (naturally) and I was a mess. I still think about my operator and how she was able to get me to calm down and listen to her and follow her directions. Operators hear so much and to find out a call was fake to cover their own butts is sickening.

The dad is so calm. I can hear the mom interjecting information. The amount of callousness it would take to make that call and create and contribute to the lies.

That is not mental illness.
JMO.

Just watched the custody hearing above. Mom looks void of any emotion to me. As does her mug shot. Dad on the other hand looks overwhelmed and very emotional as he is being led out. His mug shot also looks emotional to me too. His eyes, seem to say a lot. I can see this as she is the abuser and he tried to save his daughter, but once realized he couldn't, he tried to protect/save his wife. Not saying it was the right thing to do, not by a long shot. Just the scenario I see in my head. Just my guess.

Flip the roles quick: a man killed his daughter, mother came in and tried to revive but then helped conceal. In court, dad is emotionless and mom sort of looks upset. We would have both of them on the stake for it. I don't feel badly for either one of them.

I think he was trying to prevent his 6 yr old daughter from being taken from him. I am not sure he was trying to protect his wife.

If he was concerned about keeping his other daughter he would have turned the wife in. Now daughter is parentless.

She was hidden in a place they wouldn't normally look? Where in the back of a restaurant is that? Ceiling tiles?

That would be a good possibility, since they had to "extricate" the body before she could be removed from the restaurant. Just gives me chills to think about this poor little girl and her last day. :tears:

A spokesperson for the New York Law Firm that represented MingMing Chen said that she was ordered to be deported by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in December 2012, the highest court to which she could have appealed to stay in the United States.

Court records show Chen applied for asylum in early 2009 based on her religion, political opinion, and membership in a "particular social group" explaining she practiced Falun Gong, a Chinese spiritual practice for which she claimed individuals were persecuted by the Chinese government.

An immigration judge determined that Chen was not credible based in part on inconsistencies between her testimony, written submissions, and supporting evidence and ordered her removed to China.

During the appeal in 2012, court records show that Chen claimed after she fled China her brother was arrested for the same practice.

She also claimed to have been detained in an education camp for one month, and that she owed an aunt $20,000 to repay money loaned to pay a person referred to as a "snakehead" who smuggled her into the United States.

Her final appeal for asylum was denied in 2012 and according to the law firm that represented her in the case, Chen was ordered to be deported and was expected to be deported immediately.

Her attorneys said she was notified, but they could not explain why she was still in the United States.

RIP Ashley [emoji257]

Her "mother" looks like a zombie...I'm not sure if she's in shock or just does not care about what she has done
Her "father" looks like he is in waaay over his head

I'm thinking they had to hide her in the roof...there are not many other places she could have been

I'd say send her back, but she'd just sneak right back again illegally.

All I'm trying to say is that I see a lot of posters maybe feeling bad for the dad even suggesting he was abused by mom. We know nothing about any of that. All I know is they both knew very well she was dead and they pretended she wandered off. Horrible. Both of them.

I keep thinking about the purple coat. Did she still have it on?
More tears. Just why? Why?
