GUILTY OH - Braylen Noble, 3, non-verbal, Toledo, 4 Sept 2020 #2 *arrests* *no jail*

The press conference was a lot of nothing, IMO

The press conference was important for the community and people who helped search for Braylen, and the great news that justice for Braylen is finally moving forward after no news for over a year There is finally movement with this case. Finally someone is being held accountable in relation to the life of this little boy.

Well, in that sense, yes. I was hoping for more details such as:
What did LE find out that brought about these charges?

Since COD could not be determined, how will LE move forward with any additional charges?

Stuff like that.

Too specific of details could probably hamper the case since I bet a lot of it is technically circumstantial. Once they have filed charges though and are able to question them and confront them with certain facts hopefully the real truth will come out if it hasn't already. Most of the details will come out in court filings.

Great. Good to hear. At least they got the ball rolling.

I really want to know what happened to Braylen and how he ended up in that pool.

Ty . Ughh how can they plead not guilty this happened to Braylen on their watch. I wish the charges were harsher but am glad they got charged it took so long jmoo

It's better than nothing but is still frustrating. They're clearly hiding a lot and I hope it all comes out at trial. Braylen didn't magically appear in the pool several days after it was searched.

If, for example, mother and grandmother reported Braylen missing on a Friday, and later it transpires that Braylen had been missing since Wednesday, is that classed as obstruction of justice? Waiting too long to report?

I watched an interview with lawyers on this case, and they said that obstruction of justice includes a number of possibilities, including lying to LE.

Yes, lying to LE and discarding/hiding evidence are the most common methods of obstruction of justice. I'm just wondering if waiting too long to report might be another, as I haven't heard of it before

IMO it's possible Braylen was always in the pool and missed during the search. It seems to me it would have been extremely difficult to place him there after he was reported missing and the area was being extensively searched. This is a large apartment complex. Many people coming and going. The pool looks to be pretty much out in the open and the fence around it was supposedly locked. JMO.

Possibility 1: The partially drained pool we saw law enforcement actually searching had the body in it the whole time and they just missed it

Possibility 2: At some point over the course of several days someone snuck the body into the pool

If I were laying odds, I know where I would lay them.

It's my understanding the autopsy stated a contributing cause of death was submersion in water. I would assume they are referring to the pool water. Wouldn't that mean he had to still be alive at the time someone snuck his body into the pool?

If he had drowned in the bathtub while unsupervised, and the responsible party had panicked, he could have ended up in the pool sometime after, as a cover for an unattended accidental drowning at home. MOO.

Not sure if there was/is a way for investigators to look into this further. (Could the water in his lungs have been tested for the presence of pool chemicals vs water from the home tap?)

Trial Update? I just checked the WTOL-11 site and the last story that I found, said the trial was re-scheduled for Feb. 22, 2022 because the defense needed more time to review the files.
Both defendants appeared in court but I believe they're free on bond at this time. Wondered if anyone had any other updates?

Is usually good for these kind of things to be drawn out and pressure to stay on the suspects. I get the impression that law enforcement has them for making statements that contradict material evidence. I'm going to take a bit of a long shot and speculate it's something like they said that he was perfectly fine when he disappeared but the body has a partially healed injury. Now the justice system is also helping to apply pressure and find out exactly what actually happened here.

I don't have any updates but looking at the court docs it looks like as of December 22, 2021 the trial is still on for February 22.
