I've had nightmares like this. So terrifying. Hoping they got out but the fact that nobody's come forward to claim the car is alarming.

This happened two days ago right? No new missing person reports? If someone was in the car, someone must be missing them.

This person said they saw 3 heads in the water, or debris, or heads, or debris.

What's really awful is its just sitting down there in the water and they aren't even attempting anything until Sunday or Monday. What if the car moves? What if someone was alive in an air pocket in the car? If people were whisked downstream someone should have seen it or they'd be hung on something by now.

It's so frustrating. I would literally have a cow if this happened to my family member.

Police may know who was in car that fell from bridge

UPDATE:
Police believe they know who was in the car that fell off the Combs-Hehl bridge during a Tuesday crash, but will not be able to confirm or release the name until divers are able to bring up the car or the occupant.

Campbell County Police Chief Craig Sorrell said Friday that the department has been contacted by the family of a missing person believed to have been driving a mid-2000 model red Pontiac Grand Prix. The bridge was on the unidentified person's regular commuting route.

It might be Tuesday or Wednesday before river conditions permit divers to approach the car, said Boone County Water Rescue Team Director Dale Appel.

Appel said the current needs to be at or below 1.5 miles per hour before divers can safely enter the river. The current measured Thursday afternoon was 5 miles per hour.

Oh geez. I was so hoping it wouldn't end this way.

Me too. :( At the same time it was so odd that it seemed like nobody had reported anyone missing. I'm glad they released that bit of information. I'm very tired so I hope this comes out the way I intended it.

Have same fear,I keep a hammer under my seat for fire or water accident, also Loews /Home Depot sell a auto glass punch out device. It is of no use if you are unconscious.
Those last few seconds must have been terrifying, prayers for the family.

It's not that easy to break a car window with a hammer.

There's actually an episode of Mythbusters about this very issue. They found a POINTED object would break the safety glass, think screwdriver/ ice pick. Adam out out of the car rather handily using the pointed object.

They think they know who they (plural) are? Can you imagine being the family? Thanks for keeping up with this.

I wouldn’t read too much into that. “They" is also used to refer to a single person when not identified by gender. So it is not necessarily plural.

The police have already identified the car and who was driving it. They received that information from the family. They are just waiting to recover the body, before they release the identity of the driver.
