Crews recover vehicle that fell off bridge
Eleven days after a vehicle toppled off the Interstate 275 bridge across the Ohio River during a 12-vehicle crash, crews recovered the vehicle, but it's unknown if any occupants are inside.
A crane pulled the red car to the surface around noon Saturday.
The first diver dropped into the water at 10 a.m. to recover the car, according to Capt. Dale Appel, team director of the Boone County Water Rescue Team.
He said the car was surrounded by debris and is 90 percent full of silt and sand.
Initially, the divers couldn't see clearly underwater and were relying on their sense of touch to navigate.
