Woman with dementia goes missing after tornadoes hit Dayton

She is still missing. I had hoped that she would have been found quickly, but they are still looking:

. . . Catherine’s daughter Heather said the family is continuing to search for her in her usual walking routes and beyond.

“We encourage anyone in the Shiloh neighborhood area in Harrison Township, just keep an eye out for her, and any of the local shelters, her picture is being posted,” she said.

Sheriff deputies, Texas EquuSearch and K9s were out searching Wednesday. . . .

I'm so frightened for Catherine. Being non verbal if she's trapped under debris, she can't alert the searchers or call out for help. My husband and I would help search but they aren't allowing public searches as it's too dangerous.

Search expands for missing Harrison Township woman

The Sheriff's Office brought in Equusearch, a national organization that specialized in locating missing persons, as well as Innovative Forensic Services, to aid in the search.

The immediate area around Clayburn's residence has been heavily searched by volunteers, K9s, law enforcement and drones, however, she has not yet been found. The search will be expanded beyond the immediate area into various neighborhoods.

David Rader of Texas Equusearch, said the search has been affected by storm damage from Monday's tornado outbreak.

"The trees and obstacles are our biggest obstacles," Rader said. "The debris is just everywhere so it's tough just to get to the ground to search it thoroughly."

Ohio man continues desperate search for wife with dementia lost where tornado hit

Just two blocks from their home, a tornado left the neighborhood severely damaged. The search continues for Catherine with her husband, family friends and church members, police, and a national search group called Equusearch.

Bob said with people being unable to watch the news due to power outages, it's been tough spreading the word about Catherine missing. Downed power lines and storm debris in neighborhoods are making the search more difficult.

HARRISON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – A body has been found in a wooded area near Shiloh Drive and Blue Ridge Drive in Harrison Township.

Sheriff Rob Streck said that members of Equusearch, a national organization specialized in locating missing persons, found the body around 7 pm Tuesday evening.

Equusearch has been in the area for several days searching for missing 71-year-old Harrison Township woman Catherine Clayburn, but the Sheriff could not say for sure if the remains are Clayburn's.

The identity will have to be officially confirmed by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.

The Missing Adult Alert originally issued for Clayburn by the Sheriff's Office was canceled around 9:55 pm Tuesday.

Remains of missing Harrison Twp. woman found near Stillwater River

Three members of the Ohio Division of EquuSearch discovered the remains as they were in a wooded area off Shiloh Drive searching for Catherine Clayburn, the Harrison Twp. resident missing since Memorial Day.

They were handing out flyers about the 71-year-old woman and were moving storm debris when they discovered the remains.

The sheriff’s office at 9:48 p.m. canceled an Endangered Missing Adult Alert issued for Clayburn.

Police search for elderly Dayton woman last seen in area where tornado hit

I was beginning to think that she had gotten swept away in the floods. Glad she was found for the sake of her loved ones. RIP Catherine!
