I was carrying on a conversation with a close friend of Cheryl on another site , when I mentioned why the delay in the beginning of the police waiting 7 days for the initial home search, it was indicated that he the suspect had somehow convinced the police she left on her own accord, she ran off, etc...the police bought into that excuse ......now because of that stupidity they lost 7 days of crucial evidence that could have been in the home, I did not think police agencies operated that way, since when do they put complete stock into the surviving spouse without a complete investigation,
Makes you wonder what academy award winning performance he portrayed to get them to believe his story in the beginning....

No wonder why we are at the crossroads of no evidence and nothing.....
I'm sure LE was looking at every angle from day one. They have to look at all possibilities. If they hadn't and Bill was arrested, his defense would be they had tunnel vision and focused only on him. If this had been a young child that had gone missing, it would've been handled somewhat differently but because Cheryl was an adult they HAD to consider that she ran off. Regardless of anything Bill did or didn't say, Cheryl had filed for divorce, she was seeing another man and Bill was seeing another woman. People in those situations do run off. They had to get a warrant from a judge to search that house. They conducted the search as soon as the judge signed the warrant. Again if Cheryl had been a child, it would've been much easier to get the search warrant but because she was an adult who was fully capable of taking care of herself if she left to start a new life, LE had to show the judge how they had ruled out that likelihood. It takes time to do that.

You're entitled to your opinion but it gets tiresome when you clearly don't understand the process and steps involved in a missing adult investigation. You have bad mouthed LE constantly when you haven't the slightest idea of what they've been doing or what evidence they have uncovered.

It is sad to see no results from the searches. Based upon LE previous statement that an arrest would be made regardless of having a body, I expect the next steps will be to arrest a suspect, I’m guessing Bill. Perhaps an arrest and the fear of prosecution will compel him to disclose what he knows. After all the searches came up empty, the public interest around here has definitely dwindled. Sad to see.
I hope we hear of Bill's arrest soon. When Bill is arrested we'll get to see some of the evidence they have against him. Once that's released, people who have been covering for him may decide to come clean and help LE with information that could eventually lead to Cheryl's remains and a successful conviction IMO.

Tillicum, I've wanted to make a post saying these exact sentiments for days now, if not weeks. You did it much more eloquently than I could have. 100% agreed.

I’ve tried to do the same, but it isn’t getting through-expect another post with some variation of “LE doesn’t know what they’re doing”, some time today.

I sense the sarcasm above , and that’s ok, I got large shoulders, but I will say if the truth hurts, tough....

I understand the difference if this was about a child, entirely different ballgame, but in this case waiting seven days is excessive and I still did not think they took it serious, up to the point where they stated it might be a kidnapping.

Then giving William the trophy for winning prime suspect was a mistake at this point, doing that opened the doors for appeals if it comes to this or lawsuits..give me one good reason why they awarded him this honor at this point, I don’t see it, unless I am missing something.....

And I know it’s a different time frame today , but sitting in the front row seats seeing how my families case was handled it’s very easy to be critical..

Now that the TES searches are completed, where did the searches actually take place , where in Riverside, did they go to Eastwood park, did they go to Huffman dam , any abandoned factories or warehouses....

Just an FYI. Not meant to alarm. Keep watch on this story.
Today. Remains found at Glenn Helen in Yellow Springs, not identifiable as male or female.
Could be Leonid Clark, 26, reportedly missing since January, was last seen in Yellow Springs on or about Jan. 13, Yellow Springs police said in February.

Could it be Cheryl? Idk. Pls read article.

Tim, would you mind providing some case law or examples of cases where someone was able to successfully win appeals on murder convictions because they were at one point labeled a "prime suspect"?

I see Riverside has a missing 16 year old teen, Jonathan W. Lawrence, he hasn’t been seen since 31 March, they are treating this a a runaway, but I have my doubts, it’s been 12 days and there asking for the public’s help, this story reported on WHIO , Breaking News Staff, 12 April 2019, @ 12;15 pm

In regards to post #329, look up the Jerry Hartfield case, extraordinary tale of justice delayed and denied....for starters...

Can you provide a link for this? All the articles I read don't appear to have anything to do with Plo Koon's question.

I keep checking local media about the body found in Glen Helen but only WHIO mentions it.

As per post #329, it doesn’t take much intelligence to see that in the present form, unless her body appears or walks in the front door (which is also possible) just the idea that LE isn’t even considering other suspects, violating his rights, with a good defense attorney could get him off
Why show the questionable video, why are they trying the case in the public venue, I have watched the video numerous times, and read over the articles on this case and if I was sitting on a jury right now for what’s currently available I would vote not guilty, unless they have a smoking gun piece of evidence there is no case, and they are violating his rights now...

The only William is guilty of right now is not using common sense when it comes to the GF, it shows bad optics and he’s thinking with his other brain

Put yourself in his shoes, at this point, just maybe he is telling the truth and she left on her own, and something else bad happened from that point,
It’s ok for us to discuss this case because our outcomes affect nothing, but when when the police show a video of an individual that could be anyone, that’s trying the case in the public arena, that’s how the public’s mob mentality gets people hurt

So in post #329 yes he has grounds if it ever came to that, plus I am not a fan of trying and convicting someone without a body, that is morally wrong, they could accuse anyone of murder and try them just to satisfy the public’s outcry

I wanted to review what LE was looking for in their search of the house since they later determined from evidence found that Cheryl was murdered. They also searched the vehicles so it's possible the determination came from evidence found in one or both of them IMO.

Cheryl Coker case: Search warrant suggests kidnapping

Investigators sought a lengthy list of items from the Coker residence, the warrant shows, including furniture covers, body fluids, computers, cell phones, weapons, tools and other items “used to conceal or dispose of a body,” and “any and all materials, electrical stimuli, chemicals, topicals, indigestible or inhalants that could render a human unresponsive or unconscious.”

The search was done 7 days after Cheryl was reported missing. Does anyone have any ideas of what could still provide evidence after Bill probably tried to clean up and remove or destroy any possible incriminating evidence?

Woman missing one month; husband says he wishes he knew what happened

Riverside police would not say what was found in result of the search warrants. Court records show unspecified items were retrieved from the couple’s home, a 2016 Toyota Highlander (the same make of car in which Cheryl Coker’s personal items were discovered), and a 2017 Toyota Tacoma.

I keep checking local media about the body found in Glen Helen but only WHIO mentions it.

Distance is approximately 15.5 miles or a 30 minute drive from Riverside. Wonder if the teams were anywhere around this area.

Also from above link:

The affidavit attached to the search request sent to Coker’s employer referenced scabs on William’s elbows observed during an interview, and swollen knuckles observed during another interview. Coker, according to the affidavit, said he had injured his left hand in a forklift injury at work, but did not report the injury.

Any ideas on how Bill was injured?
