Riverside police meet to discuss investigation into Cheryl Coker

Riverside police detectives met Thursday morning in what officers described as a long meeting about the investigation into the disappearance of Cheryl Coker, who has been missing since October.

No one has been charged or named as a suspect in the disappearance of Cheryl Coker, 46, last seen Oct. 2 dropping off her daughter at school. Her SUV was found Oct. 3 in a parking lot, locked, with her driver’s license, purse, credit cards and cellphone inside.

I am presently looking at William, Erin, and Marissa, as the crime associates in her disappearance.
What on earth makes you think Marisa is involved in any way shape or form?? She and Cheryl were incredibly close. She has said that she thinks Bill did this. Police weren't called until late in the evening on the 2nd when her other daughter called family to come over because she couldn't find her mom, so Cheryl's mom and daughter came. Her car was found on the 3rd via the app, but we don't know what time that occurred. It could have been shortly after midnight for all we know and thus the reporting of the 3rd would be correct. You're assuming that there was a huge delay here, but I don't think there was at all.

I would like to eliminate her as my POI, but reading all our notes, tv news, and newspaper, there is a part of me having doubts, I would like to see the timeline that dat and night, when Bill wanted Cheryl out of the house, did she contact the lawyer, when he tried to run her off the road any action, from the daughter.
Why isn’t the daughter beating the streets with posters, signs etc..
I frequent a lot of places in riverside and there is nothing, and yes a reward does work, I know you get crazies, weed out the nuts and just maybe the answer is there
How many missing persons cases from across the country, that the husband or other family members are out in front proclaiming love and looking and go to find out there the ones who committed the crime.
I still think Cheryl is dead, and it was accidental, but with help they disposed of the body, they panic.

In the beginning I had a sliver of hope that maybe Cheryl left on her own, but too much time has elapsed,
The biggest piece of this puzzle is why her SUV has abandoned in the Kroger parking lot, I have driven the entire area and there is a million other places her SUV could have been ditched.
I bet this is one piece of this puzzle that is driving the police nuts also.
Was her vehicle disposed in plain sight because her mom lives nearby,

As I see this case until Cheryl is found for the good or bad, every member of that family, to include the girlfriend, coworkers, personal friends are all suspects.
By looking at this crime , it is too complicated for one person to be able to carry this out, plus why I suspect everyone is the silience of the family members, I feel like they were part of or know who did but are scared so they are covering each other.
So I hope the police meeting the other day will start in motion the conclusion of this crime

I have been thinking about this case while taking my Christmas lights done, to tb24oh, on my suspicions of marissa,, what was her attitude when William wanted her mom to move out of the house while he was in Florida, what about his girlfriend Erin, what about him trying to run her mom off the road after being served, and there is probably other incidents we don’t know about, if she loved her mother she would have intervened through Cheryl’s lawyer or the police to protect her mom, she knows William is a dangerous person, just by his FB alone.
So her silience since her mom disappeared is bothersome, did William threaten her ,
She should have if she suspected William was be very vocal about after the disappearance , expose is double life, and b/s ,
If he is number one suspect he’s too cozy now living, he thinks he’s free and clear.

Trying to figure out the day before she disappeared, did Cheryl work, what friends or family were around her , what was her demeaner, did she fight with William.

I hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling that LE had a long meeting to discuss Cheryl's case because they're frustrated and trying to figure out the best way to gain further evidence against their main POI. IDK, admitting they're having a lengthy meeting on a case that they've reported having no leads on, that's dragged out silence for months, doesn't translate very easily for me.

Marisa's her older daughter, and I don't know what her feelings are towards Bill. Occasionally someone here will post that someone's made a statement in a closed Facebook group, but when I try to search I can't find any such declaration in the comments. Can we for the sake of clarity quote or give specifics as to where to find these statements, and on which FB because there seem to be more than one?

Tooltimetim, I agree the family's silence is not usual in most disappearance cases. Sadly, I think they've been told to keep quiet and dumb and even cordial because they're zeroing in on him and don't want him spooked prematurely by any of her family spouting off. I think they know they have a homicide. And that really sucks.

Police: 'No stone has been left unturned' in Cheryl Coker case New info today. I think most important, the chief doesn't think she ran away.
"Chief Robinson suspects that any potential suspect had to be close to Coker. “This is one of those cases that I think is very close knit. There are some different players involved and we have spoken to every one of those people. Today, we had some key interviews with folks who had information,” he said."

Replying to my own post to add:

IF LE asks family to keep quiet, dumb and cordial, that includes social media comments, too. So, if there's legit family out there posting opinion(and please give sources!), that's interesting.

The most outspoken family member is her sister-in-law, Barb Carroll. She is in both of the FB groups regarding the disappearance. She's been very vocal about her belief that Bill murdered Cheryl and has been aided in the cover-up by the girl friend.

What I also found interesting is this part ...

It has also been confirmed that other men and women may have been in the picture during the couple’s marriage.

I have two points, first I think in e beginning oct 2 nd, when she went missing, I Think the police thought she ran away on her own , especially where her car was found, I think good leads and precious time were lost due to this fact, then when the days turned into week(s) the attitude changed.
Second, the more I read this over and over I am beginning to think the girlfriend is going to be the weak link, any woman who would get involved with someone like William , knowing he has a wife and family , just trying to push her way in because in her life finally is paying attention to her, plus ride the gravy train, a woman with no morals or self esteem .
I think the police need to identify her as a POI, pick her up and hold her for 24-96 hours, read her the riot act and what her future will be like once convicted of accessorily to murder, cut her a deal , maybe she would sing loud and clear
I reside in Riverside, I respect the Riverside Pd, they have a hard job in this small city, but reading about their meeting is worrisome, since I think they messed the case up by slow dancing

I just read Riverside police chief Robinson’s on a WDTN, concerning Cheryl’s case, it is refreshing and reassuring that he has a dedicated detective on this case, it’s scary to read what he stated, they have nothing, the one issue he spoke of was the $4000, it was mentioned she took the money and ran, I thought that issue was recorrected after William lied about it, can anyone confirm.
After reading his article I almost wish they could contact a Buffalo Detective Dennis Delano (ret) this man was a expect in solving the hard cases, cold cases , he solved our families case which was 34 years old, he’s a bit unorthodox, aggressive and gets results,
I really Think at this point is a fresh start, fresh eyes, is needed.

I thought it was originally reported that Bill (William) told police days into the investigation, that he was "replacing money" and that's how he realized $4,000 was gone. When I first read that I thought it was bs.

That is very interesting. And every single one of them has been interviewed. Glad this close knit group is cooperating.

I just don't feel that she is alive. I think she's not too far from home.

If only that video of the parking lot of where her car was parked had showed who the driver was. Of course, it cut out just before whoever was driving her car got out.

I find it very strange that her work truck mysteriously didn't work- too coincidental, if you ask me.

So many questions swirling around my head. I had hoped that she would be found by now. Prayers for you, Cheryl. Prayers for her loved ones and friends.

I had thought the same thing about the $4000, I thought William had lied about the money and then stated he was putting it back, which brought up questions why replace it if going through divorce.
Steelslady mentioned above on who drove her SUV to the parking lot to ditch it,
I know it’s a far stretch , would there be finger prints on the steering wheel , door handle inside and out.
I frequent the Kroger parking lot where the suv was found, and sit and look at escape routes, the only one I see is the suspect exited and went east to that building behind the high rise , not exactly sure what business is there, or the suspect made it to the next street east of Kroger where they were picked up
There has to be cameras on some of those homes, that could catch something

Honestly, even if they found her husband's finger prints in the SUV, that alone would not make LE suspicious. Couples share or borrow each other's vehicles from time to time, so unfortunately, his prints on anything wouldn't tell them much at all- unless, of course, they were bloody prints, to which that does not appear to be the case.

I agree, there has to be cameras somewhere along the way. Remember when they said they had new footage from a video that they were reviewing- I believe, in my opinion only, that whatever is on that video confirmed who the suspect is. I wish that they could find poor Cheryl.
