Husel Trial fact:The State refused to tell the jury what Dr. Husel said when asked about his doses. They also hid what he told the families, by not asking the nurses what he said. They only asked the families after filing lawsuits and one nurse who lied to police. Justice?

BREAKING: JURY INDICATES THEY ARE DEADLOCKED. The judge is about to read a version on an "Allen" or "Dynamite" charge and ask them to continue deliberating. #WilliamHusel

#huseltrial noon update: Judge Michael Holbrook reads jury the 'Howard' charge... essentially urging a potentially deadlocked jury to make one final and sincere attempt to resolve the case. Maybe it was the cold, soggy Monday morning, jurors look taxed

I see an eventual mistrial here. jmo

From narrative in this case on YouTube:
This is day 4 of jury deliberations in #WilliamHusel. Over the first 3 days the jury deliberated approx. 20 hours in total. Early on in today's deliberations they indicated they are deadlocked...

-------------------------------------
I was thinking there were already three days of deliberations so perhaps they are truly deadlocked, but the narrative in chat for the Law & Crime YouTube indicates only 20 hours. That isn't THAT long. But this is a jury trial...you never know!

I just watched a live noon newscast on WSYX-TV in Columbus.

WSYX had live coverage of the judge talking to the jury in the courtroom during the noon newscast.

The judge has instructed the jury at this time to have their lunch break.

Then after lunch break the jury are to resume their deliberations again this afternoon.

The judge also encouraged the jury to try to reach for a verdict in the Husel trial.

I don't have a link for this as the Columbus area television stations don't usually update their websites during a live newscast.

Here is Ohio's version of an "Allen"charge when a jury indicates deadlock. The #WilliamHusel judge just read this to the jury then suggested they take their lunch now and when they return, see if they can continue deliberations.

Since there are 14 separate charges in the Husel case, a mistrial could be declared on those counts the jury can't agree on and the court could rule on the rest.

"If we're hung on everything then we start all over," said Holbrook.

The jury was scheduled to return at 1 p.m. to see if their differences can be resolved.

I didn't realize the court could accept decided counts and rule on the undecided counts. Interesting.

my opinion is hung in general on ng vs g with most at ng (no state proof at all) and at least one hold out. Hoping the weekend would change things...still deadlocked today. will come back about 3-4 still hung and we have a mistrial. Just like Reeves no real justice served here at all and not sure Dr. Husel will get another chance to clear his name.

Camera in court back on.
Jury verdict? Or jury question? Or hung jury?

  • #354
Just a question from the jury: Can we get any additional guidance on what reasonable doubt is........ hmmmmm

  • #355
Wow another question as to what "reasonable doubt is". I give up

anyone know why Baez not in courtroom today...had to think a verdict coming down soon...I would think he would want to be standing there next to the Dr. if NG. Must be a good reason.

I just watched the noon newscast on WSYX-TV this afternoon and it had a brief live report from the courthouse.

WSYX-TV reporter Haley Nelson reported that the jury in the Husel trial is still deliberating at this time.

The reporter mentioned that the jury also can consider the lesser charge of attempted murder in their deliberations.

Attempted murder is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard WRT this case. Ridiculous, lol.

I have commented before on "attempted murder" which as mentioned is absurd. If Dr. Husel wants to kill someone he would not attempt he would succeed. Just something more to confuse a jury or at least one
