Found Deceased OH - Emrie Schandorf-Woode, 4, Hamilton Township, Warren Co., 22 Aug 2021

My childhood friend lives in the neighborhood and they just searched her backyard. They are asking people to stay inside and keep animals inside while the dogs are working. Praying they find her.

Hamilton Township police 6:45PM update: -Crews are doing yard to yard searches including barns, sheds, properties -Neighbors will see those search crews working -They continue to search pond knowing Emrie likes that area, but *no* indication she is there.

Hamilton Township police 6:45PM update: -Only a couple of hours of daylight left, so full throttle efforts underway -Community helping search, bringing food, water -Community asked to continue sharing on social media.

-This situation does not qualify for Amber Alert, no reason to believe she was abducted as of now -Still asking people to search their properties and do it again -Asking neighbors to review Ring/surveillance systems.

Hamilton Township police tell us to expect another update around 9PM.

It really bothers me when they say there is no reason to believe that she has been abducted.
In my opinion, anytime a young child is missing, the consequences of assuming that they haven’t been abducted can be devastating. Every time a little child is alone and away from home, they are at risk of being abducted! Time is of the essence!

I think they should assume she was abducted and be grateful if they find that she just wandered off and is safe. MOO

Right? I saw they blocked off some streets and that excited me, as they could stop people as they leave the neighborhood. Hope this child is found like the little guy who was at football practice the other day!

Last name released.

Next briefing coming at 8:30. The mood surrounding the search for 4-year-old Emrie Schandorf-Woode has changed dramatically. Very quiet here. Dozens of concerned neighbors just standing around. She was last seen in the Turning Leaf subdivision around 12:30 p.m.

This is horrible. I can't even imagine how Emrie's parents are feeling right now.

My thoughts exacty, @TGIRecovered, when I read the first article posted here. It was in the daytime, and in a residential area, but it happens often, even under those type circumstances. And it would be easy to tell a little 4 y/o that something was wrong at home, and he/they needed to take her there in a hurry, or whatever ruse someone chose. Put her in the backseat, tie her up, tape her mouth and down the road they go. <shudder> But it happens -- we know that.
I do think LE does indeed have just that on their possibilities list. Lotsa bad folks out there.
Four years old. Dear G-d. Let her be safe and let her be found soon.
