BCI doesn't only process crime scenes. They also have a missing persons unit that is listed on their website. It describes how they assist law enforcement in helping to find missing and endangered children.BCI being at the house across the street doesn't necessarily mean they found blood or a body.He very well could've ran away and hid out across the street. My daughter did that when she was 14.Took off abruptly and hid out in the empty duplex behind our unit. She then stated she chose to hide out there so when no one was home she could sneak back in to grab something to eat and get a change of clothes.I got a feeling,if I Googled similar incidents like what my daughter did, hiding directly behind my then unit, it's probably not all that uncommon.Thankfully my daughter outgrew her wild years and is alive and well.I hope and pray the same for Harley that he too will be found alive and well eventually ✝️

That is so cruel if someone placed that there to taunt the parents/LE!!! I’m so upset!!!

Reminds me of Morgan Harrington’s Metallica shirt...

Some have speculated that the coat may have been found elsewhere in the home and after being photographed in its original location, was hung to get further photos by the BCI.

Geez, it has been a rollercoaster....I thought I'd never sleep tonight when we heard rumors of a body/coroner...then I took a brief sigh of relief after Hickman said no body....now this damn coat. I know I'll be staying up far too late tonight.

BCI on scene as police search house near Dilly home; boy still missing

A neighbor in the area told The Blade the house police searched has been vacant for roughly two years. Port Clinton police Sgt. Josh Nelson told The Blade he was called to the scene of an investigation into the Dilly youth’s disappearance after getting home from work Monday. He said he previously had searched the perimeter of the the vacant house with a police dog. He was unsure if the interior of the home had been previously searched.

Glowing light flooded out of the home’s windows, illuminating investigators as they worked inside. In a room upstairs, they could be seen examining a hooded red parka that hung from the top of a closet door. Police have said Harley was wearing a red parka at the time of his disappearance, though it was unclear Monday if the coat inside the vacant home was connected to the youth.

I gonna hope at this point his mom & Harley concocted the story and they knew he was hiding RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. I’m hoping they did it so he would be popular/famous on YouTube and She NEVER IMAGINED IT WOULD GET SO BIG and it’s spiraled outta control.
Keeping my fingers crossed because any other scenario ends ugly.

That would make sense. I think that’s more likely than someone else hanging it in plain sight.

I cannot imagine LE treating such a critical piece of evidence in that way. That could cause transfer of materials from the new location to the coat.

Teen years were difficult for many of us and I'm glad you're daughter matured and is doing well. I agree BCI provides many more services described in detail at the link provided earlier. The focus of my post was more in reference to the BCI Crime Scene Unit trucks on the scene this evening that were being mistaken as the coroner.

Breaking and entering, criminal trespassing, and criminal mischief are felonies. There may be so much damage in that unoccupied home that it's taking hours to photograph everything that's been destroyed.

It wasn't moved. It was there well before dark fell.

Super great point! They should have taken pictures where the coat was found and put it immediately into an evidence bag, not hang it in another location to take photographs and potentially transfer evidence.

Is the coat hanging on the outer edge of an open closet door?

Toledo Blade has story abt coat and house.....also there was a comment going along the side of the WTOL11's live on FB that said there was a Police Dog that "found something" and they saw it on the live feed, they must have better eyes than I have as I didn't see that.
here is the link for the story in the blade: BCI on scene as police search house near Dilly home; boy still missing
