So this article reports the coat was hanging from the top of a closet door. That would be too high for Harley to reach, I believe. Agreed?

Police are taking a lot of photos. Had the unoccupied home became a dealer's trap house or were drugs manufactured there?

I don't think this is about drugs.

neither do I. How tall is the door? I am 5'3- 5'5 (depends on which Dr's office I am in or which gas station I walk out of) but I can reach up to 6'2, OR jump up that high if I have to, then there is also the standing on something to hang things up.

Things we DON'T know
1- is this home furnished (more than likely)
2- how tall is the door
3- how high can HD reach
4- was it HD that placed the coat there or did someone else do it??

I think flinging it up to hang off an open door is different from neatly hanging it in a closet. If the room was unfurnished, it may have been the only option off the floor. I'm 5' and routinely toss my bathrobe over the closet door in our bathroom while I shower.

Alternatively, investigators may have hung it temporarily so they can check for fluids or prints. If there's something ON the coat they would not just put it in an evidence bag without inspecting it. I do think it's more likely they found it hanging like that.

Also I think everyone needs to keep in mind we are only seeing it because the lights are on and there are cameras zooming in to the window. No one may have noticed it if it was in the middle of the room barely visible - without knowing what or where to look. Hindsight is 20/20 etc etc.

What is the investigator holding in that picture. A sleeping bag?

I don't think Harley's puffer vest/jacket had a hood. In the original press release/missing poster, they show a pic of it, and I don't see a hood on him in the CCTV or a bulkiness where there should be.

Agreed. At a bare minimum, this was a location where evidence was dumped (or that’s the belief of law enforcement).

This now looks to me like foul play, as opposed to him running off and getting himself into trouble (which I previously thought).

The fact that it’s so close to his house, makes me think that whoever did this, is close to home (literally and figuratively). That’s the only reason I can come up with for evidence having been there.

Someone probably panicked, and picked a place that they knew was vacant.

Sadly, whomever did this and picked a place so close to his home, ALMOST points a finger at his parents due to the location. Some could say that the location is "convenient" and that his parents could have staged all of this. Since they live in the area they would have known the house was empty blah blah blah....not accusing just making an observation. I watch a LOT of true crime shows, PLUS should foul play be found or suspected then the first people they will point fingers at are the people in the household. If it were a wife/girlfriend it would be a husband/boyfriend they would investigate, but since HD is a child, the parents are the ones that are investigated first, SHOULD it be the case. I am NOT saying that it is. I am just saying that IF that is script that this story takes. (going based on what Massguy was putting out, I was saying how OTHERS COULD look at it)

I hope they find Harley's prints in that house. That would mean that he was there alive. If his prints are not in that house, then I hope it's not his coat. If we find out that his coat is there but there is no sign that he was there alive, I have to think the worst.

Is it 100% known that his body is not there?

In the later photo, with Harley shoveling the front porch, he's wearing the red puffer coat and it does have a hood.

No. They said earlier that they had not found a body, but that could change.

If you’re going to dump evidence there, then logically, it makes sense that his body should be nearby as well.

I’ll believe his body is not there, when law enforcement packs up and leaves, and says that they didn’t find him.

Wait, wait, wait. There’s an unoccupied house across from his parents’ that wasn’t searched until today?? Forgive me if I’ve got this wrong. Am still digesting.

Yeah, I had to practically pay my boys at that age to take a shower. I reminded my 40 year old son of this the other day. He said “I remember Mom. That’s how I got my allowance.” So...I guess I really did.

I had to fight my son to get OUT of the shower just so I could take one. I told him that he got to pay the water bill. BUT, I couldn't blame him, I had to buy him charcoal body was because his glands hate him and he had an over active sweat gland. Even if he isn't doing anything, well lets just say he even uses charcoal deodorant. He's banned from Axe because he used so much I could taste it.

I started thinking about it when they put it out abt how much HD bathed during the day, perhaps he had the same type of issue and it embarrassed him, so he bathed so much so he kept ahead of it to keep from being embarrassed. To have that info go nation wide had to humiliate the poor kid. My son can deal with me saying something here, he's a big boy and he has said somethin to his friends online trying to get tips. But HD is 14, maybe it was something he didn't want to mention yet. Just a thought I had.

Yes the shoveling snow picture definitely shows a hood.

IIRC don't some of those puffer coats have detachable hoods or hood is zipped into collar.
