Circumstances of Disappearance:
Shope went missing from Nevada, Ohio on December 5, 1991. He was last seen by his parents shortly before they left for Kentucky. He has never been heard from again and he left his motorcycle behind. He and his parents ran a trucking firm together at the time of his disappearance.

Shope's ex-girlfriend stated he got into the backseat of a car at their rural residence with a man and two women and never returned.
