Do we not have a thread about this little boy yet? I'm assuming that since he has already been found it makes more sense to put it here rather than start a thread in Located Persons.

This little boy with autism and CP was reported missing on Saturday and it turned out that he hadn't been seen in several weeks. They found his body and his mother and a man (not his dad) have been charged.

Remains believed to be that of a 7-year-old boy with autism were found over the weekend in Dayton. Two people, including his mother, have been charged in his death.

I first read about this one this morning and made a mental note to see if we had a thread. The day got away from me and I did not do so. Very glad to see someone has opened one for him.

Michael Kendrick, 38, was arraigned Tuesday on charges related to the death of 7-year-old Hershall Creachbaum Jr., who had autism and cerebral palsy and was nonverbal. His bond was set at $2 million.

Kendrick called 911 in the early hours of Saturday morning, claiming Hershall had been kidnapped. Later that day, court documents say Kendrick led investigators to the boy’s remains, which were found not far from his home on Xenia Avenue in Dayton.

The boy’s mother told detectives Hershall died in May while she was in the hospital, according to Dayton Municipal Court records.

Kendrick reportedly confessed to punching the boy in the head and striking him while he was in an argument on the phone.

He told investigators Hershall died the next day, according to court records.

Kendrick kept the boy’s body in the house until it began to smell and then put it in a deep freezer, an affidavit read.

He allegedly used a suitcase to bring the body to a field and returned a few weeks later to collect the bones, which he left on McClure Street.

Prosecutor: Grand jury indicts 2 in connection to Dayton boy believed to be dead weeks before being found

Two people have been indicted by a grand jury in connection to the death of a 7-year-old boy in Dayton, Montgomery County prosecutors say.

Two people have been indicted by a grand jury in connection to the death of a 7-year-old boy in Dayton, Montgomery County prosecutors say.

According to the county's Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr., Michael Deshaun Kendrick, 39, and Ashley Noel Johnson, 36, have been indicted on counts related to the death of Hershall Creachbaum, Johnson's 7-year-old son.

Monday, a Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted Kendrick on three counts of gross abuse of a corpse and two counts of tampering with evidence.

Johnson was indicted on one count of obstructing justice.

The investigation into the cause and manner of Creachbaum's death is ongoing.

"The actions of these defendants are beyond despicable," Prosecutor Heck said in a press release. "An innocent 7-year-old child died and neither the child’s mother nor her boyfriend reported the death to authorities. Our hope is the Dayton Police Department, and the Montgomery County Coroner, positively identify the remains that were found and determine a cause of death, so that additional charges can be filed.”
