Where the car was found is almost an hour northwest (45 miles drive distance) of where he lived (where he came from being well SOUTH of where he lived). Lots of comments on his Missing posts on FB but none with any useful information unfortunately. His father is posting about his being missing, says James goes by "Jared".

The vehicle was found Wednesday by Beardsley’s father.

His vehicle was found parked at the rear of the restaurant, located near the I-71/Ohio 97 interchange.

According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, the Der Dutchman at that location, about 32 miles from Polk, is closed Jan. 1 through Jan. 13 due to renovations.

Columbus —> Bellville —> Polk

Why did he exit I71 at Bellville? Was it because of an appointment with someone ?
Was he usually driving on I71 or secondary roads to get to Polk?

Did he leave in another car after leaving his parked there ? Is the car functional ?

At what time did he leave Columbus? Was it at nightime or during daylight?

Did he leave the house of a relative or a friend ?

Was the car parked there at the rear, to have discretion since the restaurant was knowingly closed ?

The father found the car so it must have been a known location to them?

What about his phone ?

A lot of questions and very little information, probably on purpose.

A bit picky & respectfully, I believe you may be looking at the map incorrectly. Bellville is approximately 2/3 of the way between Columbus & Polk. I-71 runs at a slight NE direction going from Columbus to Polk. Bellville is SW of Polk.

Thanks for the correction. I initially ran it through mapquest, and it gave the location of where the car was found as being to the south/southwest of Cedar Point/Sanduscky area and a 45 mile distance North of Polk.. When I just ran it again through google maps it's showing correctly as you depicted, about 33 miles. That makes a lot more sense. I have no idea why I got the erroneous listing in mapquest (data entry person must have been half asleep :-) So thank you~!

No problem - appreciate you for interpreting my post as intended. Wasn’t trying to be a smarty pants type. Stuff happens & we are now on the same page. :)

He was last seen by his father and was returning to his mother's home in Polk, Ohio, a village in northeastern Ashland County.

According to Village of Bellville Police Chief John Fletcher, Richland County Sheriff's Deputies and Bellville police officers searched area hotels, the Richland B&O bike trail using ATVs and UTVs, and searched an area near a body of water using drones.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a dead body found Sunday morning near the Richland B&O Trail south of Lexington.

The body of the white male was found 50 to 60 feet west of the bike trail, according to Tom Stortz, investigator for the Richland County Coroner’s Office.

*****
Masi said authorities believe it may be the body of a 25-year-old Ashland County man whose car was found apparently abandoned Jan. 8 behind Der Dutchman Restaurant in Bellville just a few miles away.
