I recognize your searching and pain. But you have more of a case than I do.

So that seems to rule out drug overdose or drug reaction.

My fiance thought I had better post this also, I agree : There is no evidence of hemmhorage into the soft tissues of the neck nor into the cervical muscles. There is no evidence of a fracture of the thyroid, hyoid, cricoid, laryngal, epiglottic or tracheal cartilages. The laryngal, epiglottic and tracheal lumens are patent. The anterior, superior and posterior mediastinums are without note.

The right lung weighs 275 grams and the left lung weighs 230 grams. The right and left lungs have a normal lobar configuration. The visceral pleura is smooth and glistening. There are no petichial hemhorrages. The lungs, on palpitation contain multiple gas pockets. The pulmonary arteries are free of emboli and thrombi. The parenchyma is unremarkable with the exception of a minimal degree of basilar congestion. There are multiple gas pockets secondary to post mortem decomposition. The trachea and major bronchi are free of obstruction. They have a normal caliber. The laryngal airway is unobstructed. No intrinsic lesions are identified.

One thing that I found odd is in the end of this autopsy report it states different aspects of this autopsy that were strange. It's titled Provisional Anatomical Diagnosis. I didn't understand 2 points on this. Number 2 is : brain swelling with a suggestion of flattening of the gyri, narrowing of the sulci and a suggestion of uncal herniation. Also number6 just says: "washerwoman's feet". I don't understand these two points or what they mean. Anyone know? Ever heard this before in other cases? Also says number 4: teeth marks in the distal aspect of the tongue, anterior surface(postmortem, no evidence of contusion in underlying mucosa or muscle of tongue.

Okay the way I understand it is the significant findings in the autopsy is
1) Swelling of brain tissues
2) Teeth marks on the tongue
3) Pinkish fluid from oral and nasal cavities
4) Petichial hemmhorrages in the mastoid air sinuses

Right? anything else?

Mysteriew, this thing's like a telephone book, every time I read it I see something I didn't notice the first time or the second time, that coupled with the fact that I've been running around like a wildwoman for 2 days, being busy with work and other things, there may very well be something else and I'm just not seeing it. LOL!!! I think Monday is going to be very important though, I'm going to seek out the report from the hospital and fire and rescue and hopefully I can track down that paramedic to bolster this tied up thing. Who knows what else I may find.

In the case of strangulation, there will not always be a fracture in the structures of the neck, most especially in those in their teens and younger. The structures are much more pliable, and the exmainer has to look for more specific damage. Water submergence can also make it difficult to discern evidence of hemorrhage. However, the lung examination seems to preclude any type of oxygen deprivation. Still doesn't rule out brain injury due to impact. A pro really needs to take a new look at this!!!!!
EDITED TO ADD--The teeth marks on the end of the tongue may have occured at any time her head struck something-obstructions on the water, the lower surface of the canal...Or could have happened when and if she were tossed into the water.
To me, everything is indicating she was dead before going into the canal. But, then again, thats just my amateur opinion.

Oh, by the way C&J Ambulance sevice was operated out of Campfield Hickman funeral home. When I called them originally to see about obituary as soon as I told the elderly woman at the desk what I wanted it was like ice cold on that phoneline. My fiance told me she probably was just being lazy and didn't want to look for this stuff. I thought she sounded mean. He thinks I should go down there and ask for this stuff again. Anyone vote that I do this?

Certainly couldn't hurt. Shouldn't they have some kind of record of the ambulance run? At a minimum, who called (and paid for the run), who responded, times,etc...?

I am assuming she was the sectretary/receptionist? Might try calling again and asking for the owner.

I will, I love mysteries, especially ones that are hard to figure out. That lady was really nice til I told her what I wanted.

I agree with your BF, just sounds like you were asking her to do a tad more work than she's used to. Besides, I guess she has to put on that friendly face, considering what type of business she's in...

It is odd though that she was friendly until she found out what was wanted. I don't think we can rule out the fact that the name meant something to her.

I am cynical when it comes to these locals and their willingness to help. The next door neighbor to my parents had a murder and it was said that it was a stripper who commited suicide. However, her live in was the son of the most prominent man in town who hasn't been seen since. And it was his house.
