Don't post much but follow cases here...I'm so praying for Katelyn!! I don't know what to think about the boyfriend. Some things he has said are so strange that it makes me suspect him but the family and friends seeming to support him without question makes me second guess that hinky feeling. I just hope & pray Katelyn makes her way home safely!!

Here he sounds very credible. Especially when he says he doesn't need an attorney. I might eat crow on this one.
I also thought he sounded credible, weary and sad and quite open/non-defensive. He even caught himself speaking of her in the past tense, and corrected himself without getting the least bit ruffled.

Hearing that interview live last week was actually the first encounter I had with the case. I told loved ones at the time, "He either had nothing to do with it, or he's an extraordinarily good actor."

Hearing the 911 call and other details subsequently (like the burning of papers) has been confusing, because they are less supportive of my initial impression that he is innocent of any involvement.

But, I guess all anyone can do is examine the facts, think reasonably about them, and wait for more news to break.

I know someone VERY close to the searches and they said her relationship with her adopted mom is not good, but not sure why they brought that up in the interview I have a call out to my friend.
...Which is interesting, because in his radio interview, JC said she has a wonderful relationship with BOTH her parents.

I apologize if this was already asked......

Someone posted she lives in a condo? Is that correct? If so, how many units does the condo building have? Is there a main entrance to the building? Are there surveillance cameras?

This case reminds me so much of a case in the UK....CRS kicking in and can't remember her name right now.

It turns out everyone suspected the bf and it was a neighbour in her building. :(

I agree that the WAY he is talking is very open and not defensive at all. He has me convinced that he really likes her a lot. It's just the details of WHAT he saying that make me suspicious. I guess our only hope is that she took off on her own.

I can't tell if it's a condo or a townhouse, maybe 15 units and then across the street is a small apartment complex-maybe 20 units. These apartments are in a neighborhood setting. Middle class, well maintained.

This street is right off of a fairly busy road called River Rd. and today when I drove by I kept thinking it's so close to that road I wonder if someone pulled up out back instead of out front. I don't know why I thought that but I did.

I almost never think this in one of these cases, but maybe the boyfriend should talk less.

That was the Jo Yeates case in Bristol UK, where the media more or less accused her landlord, eventually LE arrested a man who was a tenant of hers, in the same building.

It is a good question to ask, does she live in a building with other condo's / tenants?

It's a townhouse. Not a building. I wanted to take pics when I was there today but felt weird getting out and doing it.

I have no clue why he mentions she was adopted- I am adopted and If I were missing I couldn't see how that would matter -unless my birth family had been found and I was having problems with them. ( OT which I have found & they are fantastic)

I do have to wonder where her Mom is?

'People' need to realize that MSM is gonna pick the case apart, unfortunately...so 'they' are just gonna have to hang on and keep finding her their primary goal.

I asked my friend she isn't sure why they would mention that. Said there is a younger sister and she lives with the mom. She said the dad is pitiful and he is staying in constant contact with the police.

I did see one photo of her unit from what looked like the back...it looks like a smaller, maybe 2-4 unit building? Did anyone else see that? Showed a kind of back patio area. Didn't look like a huge condo building to me, if that is what anyone is picturing.

If she had answered the door to a "bad guy" thinking it might be her BF, for instance, surely there would be some sign of a struggle if he had hauled her away against her will? And how/why would she have her phone? I guess it could have been in her hand, but I feel like the phone was taken purposely by someone who wanted to erase things. And if she left on her own, why not take her keys? I can't buy that a stalker/stranger took her away and there are no clues.

Surely LE has records from her cell company by now...I hope. They should know who she spoke to etc and where calls originated from. And can they ping a phone even if it is turned off? I have heard it both ways on this, in other cases...?

Do you know if the younger sister is adopted also? I noticed on the divorce document there is one child under 18 years old.

I wonder if when he made the 911 call if he was trying earnestly to get them to believe that something had happened to her. He knew (as we all know) a person isn't considered missing until they have been gone 24 hours. He knew something was wrong and didn't want them to wait any longer.

For some reason I don't think he hurt her but I do believe the person who took her knew her.

The "Cyber" investigation should be helpful and hopefully give enough information to find her.

No they adopted Katelyn and then thinking they couldn't have children and then 8 years later had her sister.

If the parents are in the middle of a divorce and Katelynn is living with her father, that is going to strain the relationship with her mother for sure. But it was weird how the chief threw in the adoption info when asked about her mother. imoo

I wonder if the papers she (allegedly) wanted burned have anything to do with being adopted? Wanting to find her bio-mom, or something? Otherwise, why even mention it, why would her being adopted be a factor at all?

totally guessing but by the younger child living with mom maybe the family has told the PD that the mom made a difference in the girls one being adopted and one being a biological daughter and so Chief just threw that out there, I have heard from several people that have searched the mother hasn't been around just the dad and sister
