Diamonds have piss-poor resale value (in spite of what jewelers want you to believe) and a bunch of tiny marquis-cut diamonds especially aren't going to be worth a damn. The gold might be the most valuable part of that ring, given gold prices. And depending on what kind of computer or TV she had in her apartment, they're possibly worth more than the ring.

...But none of it's worth as much as the car. Which wasn't stolen, in spite of the presence of the keys.

I believe whoever abducted her wasn't interested in anything except her. mho. This doesn't appear to be a robbery.

I agree. I remember Casey saying something similar about Caylee. I wonder what makes people say that? Especially if they are guilty. I would think keeping your mouth shut is better than saying that.

Guilty or innocent, it is a weird thing to say...that he feels she is close by? It seems to indicate knowledge or a suspicion at least of where she might be. He may just be the world's worst public speaker...but boy, he has made some strange choices...he also said something like "don't worry about her"?

I assumed they focused on the ring because it would be distinct and she was most likely wearing it. I didn't notice the place where it made it sound like she wasn't wearing it, but I feel like if it was sitting in her room they would have said something?

Well if they had been together most of that day or at least that evening, I wonder why she would not have shown him the picture on her phone if it was in fact sent to her by a third party. Unless it was sent to her shortly before she resent it. Or were they having a text conversation after he left and that was just the last thing she sent him?

That whole phone, text, picture thing is just very odd to me. How would the BF know so soon that her GPS was shut off? Don't you have to get that information from the phone company? Or can you track that information yourself somehow? Was the BF able to track her GPS location and why on earth would he be doing that?

Good catch about the GPS. He must have had a way to track it on his phone or computer. Isn't there software you can purchase to track your children through their phones? It would tell if it has been shut off. That would explain a lot. LE bringing in Cyber Experts..............

I wonder if she had the same software on her computer and could track him.....

Exactly. That's why I wonder about the engagement ring angle. I think it has more to do with the fiance than authorities are saying directly.

They are looking to see if it gets pawned or sold. A perp might do that or a boyfriend might but either way they want to know if anyone sells it. I doubt the boyfriend would because he won't get nearly the amount he paid for it.

I think they are considering it being sold/pawned, but they usually release info like this anyway? Are they expecting to find random jewelry in possession of someone? Or randomly in the woods somewhere?

I wanted to add that I use my cell phone at night as a flashlight. I take it with me at nite to he bathroom, kitchen and where ever I go.

The kind of cell case a man usually wears on his belt....that's what I have.
I have that case and phone hooked to me (on the wasitband of whatever pants/shorts/sweats I'm wearing) any time I am not in bed.

My daughter, big-busted, keeps her cell in her bra at all times unless she's in bed, sleeping.
She too uses hers as her night light for the bathroom. LOL

Maybe KM, knowing her Dad was not going to be there that night, she too, kept her cell phone close to her body at all times.

I guess I just find it odd that on a Saturday night when they could have been alone together all night that they discuss their wedding plans at some point during the evening and then he leaves to burn papers at 11 or 11:30 while she prepares to go to bed for a job that she doesn't have to be at until noon the next day. And apparently she doesn't go right to bed because she's still on her phone until shortly before 1am. Or at least someone was.

I just wonder if the discussion of the wedding plans and their future together didn't go all that well and that is why he left. Or perhaps they are just not the type of couple to spend all night together prior to marriage. Hard to say.

I also wonder why we're not hearing anything about what she/they were doing during the day, prior to that Saturday evening, and who other than the BF was the last person to see her and when.

I really don't want the BF to be guilty of anything, although the alternative is no better at this point...

Definitely seems strange to me too, Kamille. I wish we knew if it was normal for him to spend the night or stay late. I also keep on coming back to her supposedly wishing she could be there to burn the documents. What, exactly, was keeping her from doing so? Her job started later, she wasn't going to bed, it didn't seem like the fire pit was hours away or anything...

Just wondering if the police send out bulletins of some kind to the pawn shops in town, to watch for specific pieces of jewelry to come through in the hopes of getting clues about a crime?

I would hope they've done so, rather than assuming the pawn shop people might happen to see an article mentioning this ring. I still suspect the article was planted there for some other specific purpose.

The only thought I can come up with is that if the ring has been pawned or sold to a reputable business, then the pawn shop or business staff would have information about the person who pawned or sold it.
