It was copied and pasted to the Missing! Bring Katelyn Markham Home group, which is run by family members and focuses on search information, prayers, and so forth.

After much initial strife in that group, people wanting to ask questions and be websleuthy were told to go form their own group. Any posts with "drama" in them (i.e., any questions which had to do with JC) would get deleted.

So the second group was formed, Katelyn Markham's Disappearance: Considering Everything, where people were allowed to speak freely. This was probably a good idea because many of the things said were potentially hurtful to family and friends, and no one should have to see that who didn't opt to come over and read it of their own free will. The idea was to try to examine the case while remaining respectful to family members.

For this reason, dragging ANY posts from Group II to Group I (who told us speculation and discussion were off limits), was highly inconsiderate and disrespectful. IMO. The second group was the only appropriate recipient for that kind of thing, yet someone just HAD to go be important and paste the info there. A few individuals (in both groups) have a serious lack of manners, unfortunately.

I thought Megs was the one running that page...then she went over to the other page and started talking a couple of days ago. She said it took her awhile to realize that they need to work together and that talking about it was good. It kind of lead me to believe she did not trust JC as much as she had previously. Also there was a LOT of copy/paste from both pages before that...Most of it (including hers, except for her later comment of bingo, when someone said they probably couldn't talk to the family because they were close) was very neutral, about searches or what someone posted on "the other page."

Edit: they copy and pasted just the post not the comments and the post was just thanking everyone and saying she couldn't talk any more (which she continued to do in the comments)

Are you refering to JC the boyfriends mom or KM's mom?

Sorry i'm just a little confused,

I know JC' mom and family have been "out there"

but Km's mom I haven't heard anything about her.
Only her dad:innocent:

Yeah, I misread and thought you said JC's mom. All this abbreviation...lol.

His mom released the statement, although his step-mom has been on facebook talking. Her mom has been no where that I've seen.

I don't do facebook - only have it for following cases. But having followed cases for years now, instinct tells me when to copy and paste. I have not yet shared my copy with anyone. I just wanted it so I would know EXACTLY what was said!

If anything at all had been found, wouldn't forensics have been called out? And that is hard to get away with, without media and bystanders getting wind of it...

I have been following this story from the beginning, and keeping up with this forum. I live .5 mins away from her townhouse. I first read about her missing on Facebook a day or two after she had gone missing. I have to admit I really didn't think anything about it at first accept "wow someone is missing here in Fairfield, and it's right down the street." That afternoon my family ran to the dollar store on Patterson, again not thinking about the missing girl. As we pulled up, we seen a group of people and a news van, it hit me! I shouted "The girl I read about on Facebook!" I am no Medium, but I instantly got a feeling of despair.......and started crying...... I hope she is found safe and alive.........but for the sake of her family I just hope she is found.

Glad you joined us. We're all hoping she is just a runaway bride but that's probably wishful thinking. It isn't looking good. Let's hope they find something soon that will lead to Katelyn and the person who abducted her.

They're still able to search silently, I imagine, lol.

I don't know anything they have done silently, I don't mean that to be snarky......they seem to like being in the spotlight and creating as much drama as possible, not all of them but a few family members....one in particular.

Sorry but if she sent the picture of the picture at 12:45, it makes no sense that she would've told her fiancé she was tired. When did she text JC to tell him she wanted to be there for the burning? Was it that same night?

Something is not making sense.

Same night.

You're psychic!! Deleted from BOTH pages :(

Yeah they are getting easy "to read".

I suppose they could have found personal items and felt the body could not be far away.

Our search leader made it clear once evidence is found the search is turned over to LE, also made it clear we weren't at our site by "chance" we were there because LE asked us to go there.

I don't know how large the FF PD is - I know where I live, they don't have dedicated forensics people, the regular officers are trained in that sort of thing.

True, but you would think with an organized search, someone would be standing by in case of an important find...it's not as though everyone wasn't aware of the large, scheduled search...JMO

If 6 different people were at JC's friend's house when he arrived, I would imagine at least some items of interest were gleaned from the guests. That's a lot of people for LE to question and obtain statements from.

I'm hopeful that someone that knew Katelyn and JC also knew where they liked to hang out and if there were any special spots away from home where liked to go and chill out. This would be the place for LE to look. Some place where the perpetrator would feel most comfortable.

Does anyone know for certain whether or not Katelyn worked at David's Bridal on Saturday?

Do you find it odd that he drops $100 on raffle tickets and her birthday and their anniversary was just days away....plus they were moving in 2 months out of state?

Something's strange about that evening. We only have his statement that they were supposed to show at his parents on Saturday night to discuss their move to Colorado but she begged off saying that she was too tired. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she worked a shift at David's Bridal that day.

What if they started having it out after she got home about their financial problems and she refused to go to his parents house with him. Maybe it got so heated that she broke it off with him.

That's what I said. She was probably more upset about that $100 than she showed to her friends. She might not have wanted to go to his parents (if that was the plan) because she was still upset, tired, or wanted some alone time. I think everyone has times when they just want to be alone especially when you work 2 jobs, go to school, and are facing major changes in your life.

Didn't he throw a party without her? What did he do? Invite her friends over for drinks?

They had a birthday cake and it was outdoors. Probably at the fire pit.

that would explain (other than the heat) why they stopped early. it would also explain why tm is leaving, but planning on coming back (he's not really planning on coming back.)

Jeannie

Yeah, something's not right. All these plans to move, an anniversary and a birthday, graduation, and supposedly expected at his parent's home to discuss the move to Colorado that night but she backed out.

I think if she left work Saturday evening and came home and met up with John at her townhous then something happened between the hours of 8pm and midnight. Whether she met John there or he picked her up there must have been a fierce argument. I think if they were somewhere besides the townhouse during the argument, he returned to her townhouse later and returned all of her belongings except for her phone.

JC's step sister verified this on the FB-CE page yesterday but didn't know what time she actually got off work that day. Of course she may be going on information from JC so I suppose we can't consider that for certain.

I wonder what they had to discuss with his parents about the move to Colorado?

  • #457
I wonder if they were to going to ask for a loan.

Especially since I'm sure I remember JC saying that KM was moving in with his family in two weeks. Two weeks from when I wonder? :waitasec:

What if we find out that JC had taken out some life insurance on her in preparation for the trip to Colorado! LOLOL

I need to go to bed.

Do you mean KM s mother? I never hear anything about her.
:maddening:

No JCs mother. They (JC and KM) were supposed to move into JCs mothers house this week until November when they were supposed to leave for CO, plus she has been part of the "media" and is of course claiming JCs innocence. She mentioned awhile back that KM is like a daughter to her and all the holiday pics show KM being a part of JCs family (IMHO) I have NO idea where KMs mom fits into the pic. Haven't heard hide nor hair! (hare?) never understood that expression :giggle:
