No new news on Katelyn :(

What happened Katelyn, where are you?

I wish the police would speak up about something, anything. But it's probably wise they are keeping some things close to the vest.

I will be sorely disappointed if the police have nothing at all.

I agree! If and when they DO find her body (if that's how it ended) it will probably be too decomposed to get any evidence and yet again, another murderer will go free.
Disappointing if that's how it ends up....

Well I'll tell you, if it were me, I would be pissed at the person who caused her to disappear.

Well, that goes without saying ....

Okay, so the folks on consider everything are reading us and someone read our discussion re the "Potential Pic of a Pic"

That photo is going to haunt me in my old age. So I went to my original large photo that I took from the NG show - and I hate to admit it, but I see the 'grilled cheese Jesus' (my humor) or the face in the photo.

Do you?

The one advantage I see in TES' delay in searching is that it may reveal someone. They were out there searching in key areas shoulder to shoulder. If they were near a possible location of KM, this could make someone very nervous. In the delay of searching, perhaps that "someone" will act, go to the site, etc. LE would be observing any POI(s) I would think in this interim between searches.

Yes, I do understand that also ... it's just that if she is gone, then the evidence could tell how and who perhaps, but each day, the elements are destroying that.

UGH!

  • #886
I wonder if LE checks the phone every day or two in these cases, to make sure it has not been charged and used in the meantime.

Hi! First post here, took me several days to catch up on all three threads, but I have been following Katelyn's case from the beginning. I first want to say that the pic on the FBCE page is definitely clearer to me. I can barely see anything but a flash and a dark spot here, but there I can make out a face where the eyes and beard area are more clearly defined. Gave me chills. If anyone here has NOT looked at the pic there, I would. Second, I want to present a possibility that I have not seen here yet. That the friend who was with JC and KM at her townhouse could have been the one to take the pic of the pic, being in posession of her phone, and texted JC back and forth from her place, disposed of KM, then SENT HIM THE 2AM "ALL CLEAR" TEXT MESSAGE from his own phone (not known what the message was, I know, just saying he did mention a 2am message on Nancy Grace, they could have had their own "code") for him to be able to go home, then the friend could have then drove around or what not disposing of KM's phone. JC may really NOT know where she or her phone is, but he may know who does. A (disturbing) reason I feel like he could have had help: my ex-boyfriend, a huge pothead, who also talks in code (example: burning paper=pot, they have had friends get caught before and don't want any text trails out-and-out talking about drugs), has had conversations with his friends I SWEAR about how they would ever dispose of a body if they had to...I know, I was disgusted myself. But young pothead guys apparently sit around when high sometimes and have these convos, usually involving other guys and not their girlfriends, but still...if one guy was in trouble (accidently killed his gf in the heat of the moment argument) I have NO DOUBT his "boys" would have covered his tracks and told him what he needed to do/not do. They would NOT run to the cops. Potheads no likey or trust the cops. I say this from personal experience (3 years) with one, who had other friends just like him.

Again, not trying to accuse, just could be a possibility. Something to think about. Hope to hear any thoughts, please tell me I'm crazy and wrong if I am =)

A_News_Junkie, could you maybe circle the area of the photo that you're seeing the grilled cheese Jesus or do something to point it out more?

Haha, I might be going blind but all I see is blur blur blur....:P

Dear Fairfield Police,

Are you close to knowing what happened to Katelyn? Do you have a suspect?
Thanks for any information you can provide.

Love always,

clu...

seabass, yes I could see the tiny, tiny face they were talking about, funny how shadows can look like so many different things.
If that really was a face of the person that took the picture, he would have been pretty far away, with a pretty good zoom on his camera.
They were also using the picture that was on a poster, that was probably taken from a screen shot on NG, unless John has sent the original picture to someone over there and they made the poster. Taking that many pictures of the picture on his phone has got to make all kinds of shadows and glares.
Interesting theory, on the friend being there to send the texts to John. Wonder what kind of a relationship he would have with someone, that they would be an accomplice to murder? I better not open a can of worms with that question. IMO John has nothing to do with her being missing.

Pardon my manners, a very big welcome.

Good first post. And I agree with you. Stoners have a strong brotherhood bond. And nothing but time on their hands, usually.

I have mixed feelings about JC. On the one hand, I don't have a strong feeling that he did something to KM. On the other hand, I've noticed that he frequently puts his foot in his mouth and changes details with each retelling of the story of the day she went missing. I know that when JC went to KM's town house, he must have gone through her purse when he was looking for her. In an early interview, he said that her purse was there and her keys WERE IN HER PURSE. I don't have the link to which interview it was but it told me that he had searched inside her purse to see what might be missing, probably looked for the phone there too. Until he said that, I had the impression that the keys might have been sitting on a table or counter near her purse. But JC looked for them IN the purse. And found them not there, and also the phone not there. I was wondering if he had taken the keys and searched the inside of the car, or the trunk of the car if it had one. Did the police take the car? Was the seat in the car set for HER size or for the size of another person?

As for as burning the papers, our neighbors who moved a few months ago, used to have a bonfire in their backyard everynight and burned all their unwanted papers and branches cut off trees, etc. The always offered to burn things for us too if we wanted them to. Years ago, everyone here burned their papers in a barrel in their backyard and only put cans, bottles, and garbage out for trash pick up. Now most people use trash bags and recycling bins and few burn their papers. Many shred them or tear them up. Our neighbors with the nightly bonfire used it for socializing in summer as much as for burning things. They and their friends would gather around the fire and chat until late on most nights. They roasted marshmallows or cooked hot dogs. Nothing sinister there.

If KM opened the door and went outside late at night, I wondered if she could have been looking for her cat. It was raining and a storm was due. If the cat was outside, she might have wanted to get it in before the storm. I've been outside at times in past years walking around the yard after dark calling "kitty, kitty" and looking under cars and in ditches and under the house. It would be easy for someone to sneak up behind a person whose focus was on finding a cat. In fact, someone could say, "I saw a wet cat run right down there, we can go look and see if its yours." If KM went to look for the cat right outside her town house, she might leave the door unlocked and not take anything but her phone. I know quite a few women who just stick their phone in their bra to have their hands free. It would help to take a flashlight though. I wonder where the cat was found when people found the dog in the bedroom and came to the realization that KM was missing. I wonder if the back porch light was on (near where KM parked) when JC got to her house. If she went out on her own or with someone she knew and expected to be right back, it would make sense for her to turn on and leave on the outside light by the door. But did she use the front or the back door? This is certainly a puzzling mystery. I don't have a good feeling about Katelyn coming home alive. I do hope they find her one way or the other.

The grilled cheese Jesus was my attempt at a joke. They were saying on FB they see a face. I do hate to admit it, but I see a face too!

They deleted their best pic explaining it.........but you know me, if I see it and it is interesting - well...........:innocent:

Anywho, looks like the view source link is still working so try this!

Well, this scenario is possible, i suppose But if JC had anything to do with hurting Katelyn, I would think it would be a spur of the moment fit of anger situation. Personally, I don't think he is a predator... I just think this may have been anger, rejection gone out of control.
He's a dummy for getting anyone else involved if this scenario is true!!! HA! One will always accuse the other LOL

IMHO.
Welcome seabass
:welcome:

ETA: If he did ask a pothead friend to help, hopefully the friend will come clean

I find the 'key in the purse' kind of odd. Usually if you come in the door with your keys you put them down in a regular place, like a side table or a place with a key hook or something. I don't know if it is just me, but I don't usually put my keys right back into my purse when I walk in the door. To me, imo, the keys inside her purse make it seem like JC did bring that stuff back to the apartment as part of a cover up. imoo

I also agree with the cat scenario. I do think there is a chance that it was a random stranger or stalker. But the longer time goes without finding her, the less likely that seems, imo. A random perp would just throw her in a ditch or local trash dumpster, imo. But really, who knows besides the guilty creeps anyway...

I guess the paper burning strikes me as especially odd as we have a ton of "no-burn" nights where I live, more than not. I have just never seen anyone burning anything, other than the occassional steak on a grill. Isn't that why shredders were invented?

Anyway I know lots of folks don't think he was burning papers. I think he was, just because he mentioned such a weird, incriminating-sounding detail.

Yes, but as a photog buff, you KNOW someone could have photoshopped that face in there! LOL. I'm assuming that LE has looked at any reflection in the pic or if they haven't they will NOW!!!
