AMBER ALERT OH - Keshaun Williams 15, Possible Abduction, was at house party Fleet & Gertrude, may be w/unk persons in black SUV, Cleveland, 17 Jun 2023

  • #81
It appears the vehicles were found by divers looking for a missing father (who was not located) and NOT Keshaun so there was a delay when they were taken into evidence. Windows all rolled down, truck popped, so likely put in the water on purpose (insurance fraud mentioned). The vehicles found by those non LE divers (who help find the missing) were then removed as part of a training exercise by Dept. of Natural Resources. Turns out there were other vehicles in the water in addition to the first two found, one of those possibly linked to a crime, but NOT a missing person. Out-of-state divers discovered 2 Jeeps in Cuyahoga River more than a week before they were taken into evidence

Two days after a pair of vehicles were pulled out of the Cuyahoga River as part of a "training exercise," the Cleveland Division of Police tells 3News that the cars do not appear to be connected with the Keshaun Williams missing person case.

In an email, Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz told 3News that investigators discovered that both cars were stolen, with one "later used in a shooting into habitation."

Several law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals, Cleveland police, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), were on the scene Tuesday in the 200 block of Jefferson Avenue.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation as well as divers with the SERT Dive Team and the Westshore Dive Team assisted in the recovery of the Jeeps.

At this moment we do not have evidence or information to confirm either vehicle is connected to the Missing Persons investigation of Keshaun Williams.
- Cleveland Police Public Information Officer Sergeant Freddy Diaz

The vehicles were originally discovered by out-of-state divers who located the two SUVs on October 20.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad about this outcome. On one hand, had he been found dead the family could at least take small steps to move on. Since these vehicles aren't related to the case, his family has dim hope, yet so much uncertainty.
Please bring Keshaun home. His family deserves it.

Keshaun Williams just missed his 17th birthday with his family this past Monday.

The teen has now been missing for 542 days.

Cleveland Police and U.S. Marshals are still tracking down every lead to find him.

19 Investigates spoke with Keshaun’s grandmother on his birthday and found she is still holding out hope.

Just the mention of Keshaun's name makes his grandmothers, Alona Miles and Mary Williams, glow and beam with pride. They quickly recall how affectionate and energetic Keshaun has always been.

"He's very compassionate," Miles says proudly. "Always hugging us, kissing us. He's very compassionate."

He was just 15 years young the last time his family saw him more than 20 months ago.

At the time this report was published, the city website listed more than 130 people currently missing in Cleveland alone, and a deeper dive into the numbers paints an even more disturbing story.
3News Investigates combed through data to discover that more than 40 of the missing persons are 16 years old or younger. Around half of the victims are 21 or younger.

Even with each passing day, Keshaun's grandmothers still hold hope, including hope that families in the future won't have to endure an experience like theirs.

It has now been two years since 15-year-old Keshaun Williams disappeared from Cleveland. His case triggered an Ohio Amber Alert and currently remains unsolved.

Deputy Marshal Vinny Piccoli admits it's "been a long two years. However, he and his team continue to pursue leads, including a pair of recent ones he claims are "pretty credible."

"Unfortunately, those are still active. so we can't release any of that information," Piccoli said. "But there are persons of interest that we are interested in speaking with. (We're) just trying to do some background investigation for the time being until we get a chance to speak with those individuals."

Last updated June 20, 2025; details of disappearance updated.

Details of Disappearance

Keshaun was last seen after attending a house party in the the 6000 block of Gertrude Avenue near Fleet Avenue Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio on June 17, 2023. He was asked to leave the party, then went to another party in the 6900 block of Gertrude Avenue.

That night he called his aunt at work, crying and upset, but it wasn't clear what he was upset about, and she told him to go home. He also called his mother that night and she also told him to go home, as it was past curfew, and he told her he would go home. He never arrived home. He has never been heard from again. The last place his phone pinged was near East 93rd and Harris Avenue, about a ten-minute drive from the party location.

There was a possible sighting of Keshaun at a gas station about six days later. Witnesses reported he was in the backseat of a beat-up black Jeep Cherokee. Authorities looked at the surveillance video footage from the gas station and don't believe the person was Keshaun.

Foul play is suspected in Keshaun's disappearance; police got tips that he was kidnapped, and his loved ones say he would have gotten in touch with them if he could have. There are persons of interest in his disappearance, but none of them have been publicly named.

According to Keshaun's mother, he kept in regular touch with her on a regular basis, even on occasions when he missed his curfew. His grandmother said he was very close to his half-siblings on his father's side and attended church most Sundays. His case remains unsolved.
