Missing Chillicothe woman: Lindsey Schobelock

also, her "drug infraction" seems like she had some weed? imo you can be a totally functioning human, and not necessarily ever hang out with shady people, and still possess weed and the "paraphernalia" to smoke said weed.
With that said, I am really worried about her!
I think if she's not found within a mile of her car (why leave your phone at home?), I would think that someone left it there. :(

It’s says marijuana. If that’s the “drug problem” she had, I’m not as concerned about that as I originally was.
I would agree with this. I believe it's noteworthy but not a "red flag". Many states in the USA have recently legalized marijuana for medical and/or recreational purposes.

I'm still not clear why Lindsey's vehicle was found at a rural construction site. Why would she go there? This seems very odd. Nothing I've seen so far addresses this, or mentions if there signs of a struggle in or near the car. Also, the ATM report hasn't been discussed. How much cash are we talking about here, and why would she need it? AFAIK, all ATM transactions are recorded so LE would know if Lindsey herself, or someone using her card/PIN, made this transaction. Did LE find only Lindsey's fingerprints on the ATM card?

Also, still nothing from LE regarding these "health problems" mentioned in the OP. Are we talking physical or mental health issues?

I don't see anything on the thread about a drug "problem" I posted the link to a news article about an arrest for marijuana and drug paraphernalia with no opinion as to the event other than the arrest indicated drug use. (marijuana is still a controlled substance in Ohio, even small amounts for recreational use) In my opinion, if she has underlying health issues that might be a concern (just as using alcohol might be of concern for some health issues). I wish we had more info but the important thing is there are people that care that are looking for her.

Agreed. These unspecified health problems are a legitimate concern. Quite a number of MP cases on WS lately have involved MH issues, but at this point we don't know if this is could be a factor in Lindsey's disappearance.

Some other key questions we don't have answers to:
- Why was Lindsey's vehicle found at a rural construction site?
- Did Lindsey personally visit the ATM before going missing, or did someone else use her card?
- How much cash was taken from the ATM on this occasion?
- Was this cash found in her car, or is it missing?

Almost two weeks since 28-year-old vanished in Chillicothe, Ohio

To Note:
•Jon (her father) said the last time he talked to Lindsey was via text on Monday, February 21. He says her texts seemed a bit unusual and didn’t really sound like her.
•Lindsey went missing Wednesday, February 23.

Feb 23
•Lindsey went to work as usual at a tattoo shop, the Iron Pen, where she normally works until 6-6:30pm
•one of her coworkers said she got up very abruptly after she was on the phone – she didn't know if it was a text or a call – she just got up very abruptly and left
•when she left work it was between 4 and 5 p.m., which is earlier than usual.
•this raised a flag for the other employees at the tattoo shop
•Shortly after leaving work, Lindsey apparently went to an ATM where she withdrew some cash. There’s footage of her at the ATM.

Feb 24
•Lindsey’s car was found on Windy Ridge Road
•the area very rural; it isn’t an area Lindsey would be in normally
•Lindsey’s keys were found in the area near her vehicle
•Other belongings like her license, her purse, phone, iPad, & home computer were all left at her house
•Nothing looked disturbed or out of place at her house
•a search began that night (people and dogs)

Feb 25
•search continued (people, officials, dogs, drones)

Her family has theories about what may have happened, like maybe someone picked Lindsey up. “We have no proof. We’re really working with just theories,” Suellen said. “They just very strongly believe she's not in the woods, you know, that -- that they feel pretty conclusive that she's not in those woods.”

Jon said he’s holding on hope that Lindsey is out there somewhere. “I'm still hanging my hat on the two things. On the fact that she got money first she wouldn't need if she were gonna hurt herself,” Jon said. “And number two, there was no trail into the woods. There was nothing for the dogs to follow. There was nothing found by the drone or the airplane. So she got into another vehicle and left. Those are the things I'm holding onto.”

…..

Family has been worried about Lindsey for a little while now.
•health concerns
•Jan 2022, Lindsey had checked herself into a hospital; not feeling not clear-headed
•pretty distant from her friends and sister recently; alienating herself

Lindsey may have a small connection to New Orleans. “She had told two of her friends in the past month or so, ‘If I ever had a chance to start over-- a reason to start over, I think I'd like New Orleans’”

IF Lindsey were going by a different name, she would likely use the names “Indi” or “Josie.” Lindsey used the name “Indi Art” at the tattoo shop where she worked.

So.. did she meet someone at her home with needed cash in hand?
Hope the person wasn't using a burner phone, and hope they did forensics on her car... this is not sounding good at all. I bet she has a friend, sibling or coworker who might know who interrupted her day.. moo

@mlhenn thanks for highlighting the new information about Lindsey's disappearance. After reading the Dateline report, here's a few observations.

Regarding Lindsey's relationship status, we know she is a single mother with two young children, and she has 'amicable relationships' with both of the fathers per the Dateline report. We also know that Lindsey had mental health issues recently, including depression, and checked herself into a hospital in January of this year.

The phone call or text Lindsey received on 23 February, seems to be an important event, a catalyst for this situation, but we don't know much/anything about who may have contacted her or the nature of this communication. What we do know is that Lindsey left her workplace suddenly, which was unusual for her. She then drove to a bank and was recorded on video withdrawing cash from an ATM. How much cash Lindsay withdrew was not mentioned.

After the ATM visit, Lindsey is not seen again.

The next day her car was found near Windy Ridge Road, a rural area about 30 minutes away from where she lived. No one in Lindsey's family knows much about this area. Lindsey's car keys were found near her vehicle, but her driver license, purse, phone, iPad, home computer were all found at Lindsey’s home. Searches in the wooded area found no other signs of Lindsey.

Do we know if LE is checking Lindsey's phone records to determine who may have contacted her on 23 February?

It would also be helpful to know the amount of her ATM withdraw that day.

Since her personal belongings, including her drivers license, purse, and phone we all found at home, that would seem to indicate Lindsey stopped at her home after she left the ATM. However, her family indicated they found nothing at home suggesting Lindsey was planning on leaving home or meeting someone.

We don't have details about this phone call or text Lindsey received on 23 February. Apparently this communication prompted her to immediately leave work, then go to her bank and get cash for some reason, but at this time we don't know why or how much cash is involved.

I'm wondering if Lindsey owed money to someone before she went missing? Her family didn't mention anything about that in the Dateline report.

Hope the person wasn't using a burner phone

I’m questioning this as well…
Was the phone she used at work that day the same phone that was left at her house? Meaning did she go to her house after leaving work that day, making sure all her electronics and personal items were left behind?
Or…
Was the phone she used at work that day a different phone than the one that was found along with all her other belongings at her house? Meaning she never went back to her house?

If all of her personal items, including drivers license, ATM card, and phone were left at home, then logically one would assume she left them there after withdrawing cash from the ATM. However, why Lindsey would do that is unclear.

We know her car keys were found near her abandoned car, but it's unclear whether Lindsey drove to this location or someone else drove her car there. Also, where was the cash from the ATM? Was it found at her home, in the car, or did it disappear?

A good point about the phone(s). We don't know whether Lindsey had more than one phone, so it's possible the phone left behind at her home was not the only phone she possessed. If phone records show no activity for the afternoon of 23 February on the phone she left behind, then it is entirely possible another phone was used.

@mlhenn Thanks for keeping us updated. I'm sure many of us were hoping we'd have additional details in Lindsey's disappearance.

IMO this phone call or text she received at work, and the ATM withdrawal shortly after, could play key roles. We still do not know much about this call/text, or what prompted Lindsey to leave work and drive to the ATM. The logical assumption would be the phone call/text caused her to need cash for some reason. Beyond that, we don't have any information.

AFAIK the amount of cash she withdrew hasn't been mentioned. Typically ATMs have a $500 or $1,000 transaction limit, so presumably Lindsey wouldn't have been able to get more cash than that. Nothing about the ATM cash has been mentioned, so we don't know if it was found at home, in the car, or if that is also missing.

It's reported that all of Lindsey's personal items were discovered at home, implying that she stopped at home after the ATM. If this is correct, then why would she leave everything at home? It was mentioned that Lindsey may have owned more than one phone. We don't have confirmation of that, but if so, the phone found at home may not be the only she had.

Many questions and several information gaps, but unfortunately very few answers.

IMO, a key piece of information is this phone call or text she received on 23 February. Based on what we know so far, Lindsey's daily activities before that call/text seemed normal, then afterwards everything seemed to change.

If we knew who contacted her, and why she needed cash from the ATM, we might have a better understanding of events leading up to her disappearance.

Hopefully LE has information about this call/text and just haven't released it the public.
