I'd be willing to bet they are already involved. I don't think there is any chance this was another teen and LE was likely aware of that from the beginning and is taking appropriate action.

They probably are involved, but it's so sad and scary that 1) There are such disgusting predatory people in this world who would do this and 2) These Apps exist that might make tracing their identity/location impossible even in this day and age.

There are a lot of vulnerable people out there and they are just seeking friendship or a relationship. It's important that all of the blame go to the predators for exploiting that and that these predators don't get let out again once caught.

Agreed, I got involved with a case involving an airline pilot that used social media to groom and meet up with an underage girl. He posed as a teen/young man. He took her across state lines for their "date". She went willingly but she was underage which made it a sexual offense (as it should be) as well as transportation across state lines for immoral purposes. He was arrested, federal charges. He was released from in home detention to attend religious services (he was from the middle east, not a US citizen but working legally in the US) and jumped bond. His family had a lot of money, and I'm sure got him out of the country privately. He never faced charges. Still infuriates me.

Unfortunately, I am guessing that the man she was texting was a lot older than 18.

Keep in mind that the Cincinnati area is very close to Kentucky and Indiana.

My thinking is that not only is the person who texted with her is a lot older than 18, that person likely traveled from out of state to meet her and took her somewhere out of state as well.

As someone who spent the majority of my girlhood and early adulthood making dangerous decisions as a result of misguidedly seeking external validation through my relationships with men - I can imagine spending a night in a hotel with a 43 year old man as a 16 year old girl must have been excruciating and scary and awkward (not to mention what she has been going through since she went missing). No amount of grooming or convincing myself that I was happy to be in the situations I was in could shut down the sense of my gut churning when I was in vulnerable and isolated positions with unsafe men.

Reading this update gave me a chill. This poor child deserves better for her life than to be life alteringly victimized by these monsters for their own selfish, carnal and profoundly insignificant desires. I hope that she is located safe soon and finds herself in a life where she knows nothing but love, security, and warmth.

I wonder what his role in the psychiatric facility was? I’m too scared to click on the Linked In, you can see who views your profile (not that he’ll be checking that any time soon). Even if he were an aide or custodian, he would have so much unfettered access to vulnerable people. He must have so many victims. Good on the folks in Canada for chasing him out.

I hope there’s enough of a modicum of decency within him to point authorities in Madison’s direction.

The investigation into the disappearance of a Colerain Township teen has led to the arrest of a Buffalo, New York, man.

She was previously seen getting into a black Jeep Cherokee with New York plates. License plate readers confirmed that 43-year-old Kyle Lawrence rented the vehicle, according to court papers.

Authorities said Lawrence told agents he communicated with Fields on Snapchat and came to Cincinnati twice to meet up with her. According to the FBI, the first visit between the two was on January 19th at a hotel near CVG. He also told the FBI that he had child sexual abusive material on his devices.
