YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A 31-year-old Youngstown man has been missing from his home on Pasadena Avenue since Sunday.

Malcolm Myers’ family said he left in his car and hasn’t been back since. He’s also not answering any of their calls.

Youngstown Police is currently investigating.

The family is desperate for answers and said Myers would never go more than a few hours without checking in.

“He knows I worry about him, and he knows him being a young black man in these streets I’m always worried about him. I always want to know where he’s at or at least have someone know where he’s at. I just want my son. Just give me back my baby,” said Myers’ mother Stephanie.

If you have any information that could help please call Youngstown Police at 330-742-8900.

Other than a record showing he and his mother at the Pasadena address as occupants and/or owners, I could not find much with a name search. There is someone with his name (First name, middle initial and last name) and exact date of birth in Ohio correctional department records but without a photo I can't 100% confirm it's him. Inmate Search: Malcolm M Myers A684973, Columbus, Ohio

Why would a 32 year old man need to check in with his mom every few hours? He's been gone now for 5 days without contact. This doesn't sound good. I hope he shows up soon.

Malcolm has quite a few people looking for him. Do we know what kind of car he was driving when he left? Where he was headed?

I think it’s less that he NEEDS to, and more that it’s unusual for him to just not respond to calls, texts, etc. My husband doesn’t NEED to check in with me every few hours but I always know where he is and we are always in contact because that’s just the nature of our relationship. If I was texting and calling him with no response I would be alarmed. JMO

Yes, but this is a 32 year old man. A 32 year old son is a lot different than a husband or a 14 year old kid. I'm wondering if there was a reason she kept such close tabs on him.

It’s a crazy world out there and is steadily getting crazier. A lot of angry people with an ax to grind for whatever reason and innocent bystanders sometimes get caught in the crossfire. Checking in with family even if they are grown adults isn’t unusual. Plus, his family appears close so him not reaching out isn’t normal. This isn’t about being grown and being able to do whatever you want. Personally I’d never want my mother to be worried about me. She’s too important to me to do that to her.

Unfortunately, I can't get her interview to play on my phone. Well she was obviously right to be concerned about him because he's been missing for a while now. Also, I accessed the Inmate Search above and it shows that this particular person is currently within the correctional facility so I am really confused. It seems there is some very pertinent information missing.

Hmmm…I wonder if he did get picked up and his family doesn’t know. I feel like LE would have figured it by now though. Maybe.

Ohio Department of Corrections doesn't currently have anyone by that name.

OK. @GuyfromCanada . I used the Ohio Corrections that you used so maybe that was info a week ago? And we can't say with surety that it is him as there is no picture, but the name and DOB are the same. Perhaps he had just been released and was staying with his Mom. This would explain her anxiety when she didn't hear from him. (And perhaps why she contacted him every 2 hours).

Perhaps his mother is worried because he might have a suspended license? I’d be worried too with previous criminal charges and only 31 years old. :(

I was thinking maybe he is acquainted some unsavory characters and they may have been the reason he got in to trouble. I'm also wondering if he is still hanging around those people and maybe something has happened while in their company.

If you look at the Ohio Department of Website page it states "This site displays data on those offenders who are currently incarcerated in an Ohio prison, currently under Department supervision, or judicially released." Judicially released means released prior to the completion of the sentence. SO, if a person is not currently incarcerated nor released early they won't be in the database. Hope this is all a misunderstanding and he is home and safe soon.

If that is the correct FB page, it appears he is married and has a stepdaughter. Are his wife and stepdaughter missing too? Is his car that he left in still missing too? What kind of car? Has anyone seen any missing person posters?

Because this is Youngstown, Ohio and he is a Black man…

Sorry to say, there is more to it than that.
